Devoted
Clayton Stoner is a pending unrestricted free agent. He is a big, strong, shot-blocking, crease clearing defensemen who can handle top-4 minutes in a pinch, but is probably better suited for the bottom pair. 29 years old. 6'4 215lbs Born and raised in Port Mcneill and made a smidge over 1 million last season. Does this guy remind you of anyone? He plays a very similar game to Willie Mitchell and could be a great addition to the backend. My question to all of you is, "Do we need him?" I recognize the need for a puck-moving defenseman on this Canucks team, but I also think there is a hole in the grit and size department. SCOUTING REPORT Assets: Has great size and the ability to play a tough, stay-at-home brand of hockey. Can also produce points at lower levels. Can play on either side of the ice, which adds to his overall value. Flaws: Needs to display more consistency in all facets of the game, especially in terms of his overall defensive play. Can take bad penalties that hurt his team from time to time. Career Potential: Physical depth defenseman. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=717800 - Article discussing his prominence in the playoffs this year. Thoughts? Brocklovich
Well right now if a Dman isn't moved it means this guy would be taking Corrados spot If a Dman is traded then depending on the price maybe he is a guy too look at bringing back
-AJ-
I'd say only at $1M or less. Not really that needed IMO. Like you said, I think a puck-moving d-man is a more dire need.

Devoted
He would likely be pushing Stanton out of a job, which I believe is an upgrade for the Canucks current needs. He's played some very good hockey the last season and half. I'd venture to say he gets paid in the 1.5-1.9 million range on the open market.
