The St. Louis Blues could have some big changes in goal this summer and Brian Elliott isnt sure if hell be back.

After another disappointing finish, the Blues have both Elliott and Ryan Miller due for new contracts this summer. As Dan ONeill of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch shares, Elliott isnt sure if he has a future in St. Louis.

Honestly, I dont know, Elliott said. From the very beginning of the season, my agent said, Lets approach the end of the year like youre going to be a free agent, and if other things happen, thats fine. So I wasnt hung up on the issue.

The Blues may be looking to mix things up in goal this summer as theyve got highly-touted prospect Jake Allen waiting to slide into a starting or backup role next season and may still have interest in keeping Miller.

After Millers disappointing performance in the Blues six-game loss to the Chicago Blackhawks he may be on the way out. Elliott has been a steady backup for St. Louis, however, and if hes not re-signed he shouldnt be out of work long.

Elliott has played three seasons in St. Louis and won the Jennings Trophy with Jaroslav Halak in 2011-12.

Nucks new starter and mentor for Lack? I'd sure love it. 2 years at $2-$3 mill would be nice. One of the most underrated goalies/players in the league. Honestly think the Blues would've done better with him and not trading for Miller.

I think its a mistake for the Blues to re sign Ryan Miller. While he is a competent goalie, he is not the same guy he used to be. The only way I re sign him is if he is willing to take a steep discount . 3mil so they have cap room for other options.

The Blues need goal scorers desperately.

What do we do with Markstrom then? Kind of makes the whole Luongo trade pointless.

Doubt anyone gives us much for Markstrom at this stage.

Can't we send Jacob down before the draft? Markstrom was playing well in the AHL before we traded for him. Markstrom would also get more starts but would compete with Eriksson who is the same age as him at 24, which is pretty young for a goalie.

How about the possibility of packaging Markstrom to get the rights to two Leafs' RFAs James Reimer and Jake Gardiner? I'd be doing back flips if Edler would waive his NTC so that we could move him, Markstrom, Sestito to Toronto for Reimer, Gardiner and Orr.

Oh, right. The Canucks are still a hockey team that I should support. Hmm.

Steen, Backes, Tarasenko, Schwartz, Oshie with 20+ goals and 3 dmen (Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Bouwmeester) with high end offensive output...yah, I'd like to have a problem like that with our Canucks when it comes to goal scoring.

It's funny... Everyone was all for trading Luongo... who has put up better numbers than Lack and Schneider... but when it comes to trading Lack and picking up a veteran tender to groom a younger Markstrom (whom has a higher ceiling potential) people get all angry about it.

Winnipeg needs a goalie

Lack + ______ for Evander Kane

Sign Elliot/Miller/Hiller/Halak 2 years

I find it strange how that article sounds like its blaming Miller for losing the series... as if it wasn't a lack of offensive production. I watched the entire series except game 5 and from what I saw Miller was making some big saves for the team whenever the defense failed.

Yeah, Eddie Lack would be bloody well wonderful if he could get some goal support one of these days. Definitely see a 1a 1b situation forming though. I don't like Elliott. His confidence isn't good and he can and will get shaky. The Blues built him back up, but remembering how he was in Ottawa and Colorado sketches me out.

I was never, and will never be, a supporter of the anti-Luongo movement. He was the best goalie ever to play for our team, one of the very best players period. I never for one second wanted him gone. And I'd have him back any second. Shame we burnt those bridges.

You think Markstrom has greater potential than Lack and yet Lack has demonstrated more NHL readiness

and performance than Markstrom. When they played against one another in the AHL it was a neck and neck

race. I think the original take back in Sweden was since Markstrom was bigger than Lack he had an edge. To date he simply has not shown an ability to seize a NHL role.

It comes down to Canucks having two solid prospects in net. To date I suggest that Lack has a solid lead on the depth chart. That does not mean things cannot change. It is all about roster time line and how

these two develop. A deal for Kane does fit the roster time line but your blank space makes me nervous.

Can't teams freely move players up and down the NHL and farm league teams in the offseason? If not this'll be a problem in regards to getting a veteran goaltender.

Waivers rules become active 12 days before the start of the season so technically Markstrom could be sent down before that time.

Where that becomes an issue is that he will have a very shortened opportunity to make the club. The decision would need to made pretty early in camp.

If a FA goalie is signed in the offseason it's a clear indication that Matkstrom is not being given a chance to make the club regardless of his play. It's doable but it's tricky to tell a player at his stage of development he has no chance.
