Outsiders
1) I'd try and get Kesler to stay. However if he doesn't want to... Id move him and pull the trigger on a deal along these lines To Ana - Ryan Kesler, Jannik Hansen,2nd 2014 To Van - Shea Theodore, Etem Emerson,10th overall 2014 This is a move about the future. We get two highly rated prospects that fit our holes in the prospect charts (Defence and Center). Plus we get 10th overall which will be a great prospect moving forward. 2) I'd make a trade for 1st overall To Fla - 6th overall, Jason Garrison, Brenden Gaunce,3rd 2014 To Van- 1st overall 3) I'd get David Booth Bought Out. He is a waste of 4.5 million dollars 4) I'd Re-Sign the following Mike Santroelli ( 1 year 2 million Why? Santroelli was are best player( arguably) while in the lineup contributing both offensively and defensively. Can play both on the PP and PK. He's fast and has skill. Zack Kassian ( 3 years 2 million per) Why? Kassian showed some promising things near the end of the 2013-2014 season. He continues to work hard day in and day out. Next year he will look to take another step forward in his delvopment hoping to get top 6 minutes. He's big, fast, great shot and great passer. Hes not afraid to go the the areas needed to get points. He is a big part of our future Chris Tanev ( 4 years 3.5 million per ) Why? Tanev is solid on the back end. He showed last year he can put up some offensive numbers while still playing at a high level. He block shots and is a get Penalty Killer. He's calm and collective back then, and can be relied on in any situation. 5)I'd hire the BCA ( best coach available ) 6) Id try and sign UFA'S Matt Niskanen ( 2 years 5 million per ) 7) At the draft 1st overall the Canucks select Sam Reinhart 10 overall the Canucks select Jake Virtanen 8) our 2014-2015 Lineup would look something like this. D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Jensen Higgins-Santrolli-Kassian Matthias-Etem-Burrows Sestito-Richardson-Kenins Hamhuis-Niskanen Edler-Tanev Stanton-Bieksa Lack Markstrom 9) are prospect draft pool top 6 Shinkaruk-Reinhart-Kassian Jensen-Horvat-Virtanen Theodore-Tanev _______-Hutton Subban-Corrado Lack Markstrom 10) 3 years time on the sedin's last year under contract I'd make a cup run with a team looking like this D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Jensen Shinkaruk or (Ufa goal scorer)-Reinhart-Kassain Higgins-Horvat-Burrows Matthais-Richardson-Santroelli Hamhuis-Niskanen ______-Tanev Stanton-Bieksa Lack (vet goalie)

Madness
Garrison isn't going back to Florida. Again, you trade to #1 for the best player. That is Ekblad.
10TRAVIS NUCK10
Trading Kesler to anyone in our division let alone conference will come back to bite us. Thats not a player I want to see play against us more than 2 games a year, yet everyone has some variation of a Etem/Kesler trade. Kes should stay as a Canuck in my mind and if he's gotta go then bounce him to the East.
Nuxfanabroad
Overall, pretty reasonable. Lots of familiar ideas, but put together, it all adds up to a young, emerging team. Basically what I'd like to see.
Royals123423
Wouldn't mind but if we want to be contenders we cannot trade Kes to someone in our division.... Imagine Anaheim with Perry, Getzlaf, Kesler, and 2 goalies in Gibson and Andersen that look like they are going to be SOLID 1a and 1b goalies next year (if they don't re-sign Hiller) If they're good now imagine if they got Kesler.... DownUndaCanuck
Keep our core and see how they do under a new coach. We have 12M in cap space, re-sign Kassian, Tanev and the other smaller pieces for a combined 6M, leaving us 6M to sign some UFAs. Sign Halak or Hiller to a 3M deal. Sign Jussi Jokinen (preferred = playoff performer + shootout specialist), Milan Michalek, Hemsky or Vbrata to a 3-4M deal for some competition and depth: Sedin - Sedin - Jensen Jokinen - Kesler - Kassian Hansen - Santorelli - Higgins Burrows - Richardson - Matthias Horvat/Shinkaruk/Fox Have the bottom 3 fight for a roster spot - if they look better than say Higgins or Burrows, they get the roster spot. If they don't we've got veterans to fill spots. Competition and depth is something we had none of last season. Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Bieksa Garrison - Stanton Weber Corrado Alberts Watch Trotz turn this defence into a Cup-worth defence. He's made machines out of late draft picks like Josi, moulded Seth Jones beautifully into a Weber-like player and will be able to get the most out of our younger defencemen like Edler, Tanev, Stanton and Corrado, not to mention bring Bieksa back to a 30-40 point producer. Halak Lack 40:40 split of games for these two. It's not a Cup-contending team, but Trotz can work his magic and turn us into a hard-to-play against, frustrating team that might be able to steal wins against the bigger teams of the West and sneak into the playoffs. As we've seen in the East so far, it's anyone's game then.

Buffalo is not trading a future 1st line center for a D-Man in his late 20s when the last thing on their minds if the playoffs. Chicago needs Seabrook a lot more than they need Kesler, they don't accept. Rather not to the Winnipeg trade. Don't know who Elliott is, but I doubt they accept. Iginla doesn't sign here. I.Am.Ironman
I've said it before but I think it is worth keeping Booth on the payroll this season. He showed some chemistry with kass and richardson late and he just got healthy. Why waste a buyout on a guy who only has 1 year left.. We wont be spending to the cap ceiling anyway I would wait a year until Booth's contract is up (players magically play better in contract years anyways) and take it from there. Saving that buyout for someone else -- might be Burrows
Mighty Righthand
Trading Kesler to anyone in our division let alone conference will come back to bite us. Thats not a player I want to see play against us more than 2 games a year, yet everyone has some variation of a Etem/Kesler trade. Kes should stay as a Canuck in my mind and if he's gotta go then bounce him to the East. Thank you, keep Kes if possible, ( hopes he can stay) BUT!!! He cannot be traded to ANY team in the west. This team is way to soft, especially on the back end. No forward is afraid to cross our blueline with the puck. Kevin and Edler are our best hitters back there. They (we) need to man WAY up back there. If I were the GM, I would build a team that made visitors have to adapt/adjust their whole game plan to even compete with my canucks. the league would know this . . . 1 You're going to get out worked. 2 You're going to get HIT! Hard, and often. 3 Someone on your team is going to have to fight! Aggressive blend of speed, size, and skill. Canucks that fit that mould right now (imo) Kesler Kassian Mathias Sestito ( not so fast or skilled but effective in his role) Higgins (quick and hits) Hansen ( see Higgins) Kevin Bieksa (my favorite Canuck) Edler Burr ( more than a handful to any defending team ) I love the twins, but I have a problem with hockey players that won't even stand up for themselves. Never would've traded Volpatti, or Dale Weise They are missed sorely by me anyway. Each line on my team would have it's own Identity, and attack style. Making it hard for opposition to counter/defend our attack wave. Tired of seeing our boys on the wrong end of the 1-0 2-1 games. There's nothing about the Canucks that's scary right now. That's what I would change. If a team comes in, nervous and on edge before they even dress, it's almost 1-0 already
