Jiggs50
I dont know much about this kid, had a great season with Portland alongside Pouliot. Comparable style? How many years away? Big 6'3 guy and projects as a 4/5 shutdown defenceman.
Squeak
Supposedly was signed to the ELC to keep him here in N.A. He may have gone back to the SHL, but the Canucks signed him to an ELC (with bonuses) to keep him in North America. Since he was drafted out of Sweden (and not the CHL) - the Canucks can assign him to the AHL/ECHL next season. Which may happen due to expected regression of Portland (WHL)
BananaMash
I dont know much about this kid, had a great season with Portland alongside Pouliot. Comparable style? How many years away? From what I gather he's a really strong shutdown defenseman who isn't afraid to play physical. Really limited offensive upside, probably a bottom pairing guy after a some seasoning in the AHL. He's eligible to play in the AHL next year as he was drafted out of Europe. I wonder if he'll make that jump.
Tearloch7
Big 6'3 guy and projects as a 4/5 shutdown defenceman. Reminds me of Mathias Ohlund in some ways .. with the right development, he 'could be' a very solid shut-down D-man
BananaMash
Reminds me of Mathias Ohlund in some ways .. with the right development, he 'could be' a very solid shut-down D-man He reminds me of Douglas Murray, but much faster and a little less physical. Considering how often Murrays hits and skating put him out of position, that's not a bad thing.

Never really thought of that before. Cederholm is insanely strong though...

zombieksa
4/7 players drafted in 2013 already signed and I fully expect at minimum Subban to be signed out of remaining draft picks. Horvat living up to expectations. Shinkaruk picked up way later than expected. Cassel took a huuuge step forward in his development. Subban voted best offensive d-man in his conference. Cederholm highly praised for his physical and defensive game. Say what you will about Gillis but he nailed 2013 in a big way.
Tearloch7
Yeah sort of. Never really thought of that before. Cederholm is insanely strong though... So was Matty .. just ask 'Iggy' .. Anton seems to lack Matty's quickness, but that can change with training and confidence.
DeNiro
Would love to see him work on his offensive game a bit in Utica next season. He has a knack for jumping up in the play when he's given the green light. His strength will always be his shutdown game, but we need D that can jump up in the offensive zone too. TheFastOne21
Good signing! I like Cederholm a lot. For those that care about him: Cederholm adapted well the NA style of play/ice this season. He was the D-man that allowed Derrick Puliot to take chances offensively without much consequence. He is physical but not overly. By that I mean he doesnt go looking for the big hit but he will not shy away from it. He is strong on the puck and great in the corners. He is very positionally sound. His offensive game is limited, however, he has shown signs that it is there or can be developed. He needs to receive passes more cleanly as he bobbles hard passes often. He makes the smart plays not the risky/flashy plays. Has a decent first pass to initiate break outs. He is not going to be a top pairing guy but could very easily become a top 4 or 5 guy that is a good penalty killer. He has the size and body to play in the AHL next season. As said earlier Portland will begin to regress next season (sad for me living here.). I am excited for Cederholm in the future. I think he and Jordan Subban, if they develop into NHL regulars, would work well together as Subban is similar in style to Puliot. Puliot and Cederholm work exceptionally well together as noted by Puliot winning the D-man of the year award in the CHL (maybe just WHL, dont remember). Obviously Puliot is a top 10 pick with a top 2 potential, while Subban is a 4th rounder and Cederholm a 5th rounder, the similarities still exist.
