-Vintage Canuck-
Sadly, never got to wear No. 666: Miroslav Satan, who played in over 1000 games and scored over 700 points during his 15-year NHL career, announced his retirement on Tuesday after representing his native Slovakia at the ’14 IIHF World Championships. Satan, 39, made his mark over the course of eight seasons in Buffalo, posting career highs in goals (40, 1999) and points (75, 2003) while wearing a Sabres uniform. Satan also served as a rotating captain and played in 51 career postseason games for Buffalo, helping the team advance to the Stanley Cup Final in 1999. It would take the Slovak forward 10 years to get back — in 2009, he won his first and only Cup as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Satan last played in the NHL during the 2009-10 season with Boston, and acquitted himself pretty well — 14 points in 38 regular season games, and 10 more in 13 playoff appearances. From there, he played in both the KHL and Slovak Extraliga, representing Slovakia on numerous occasions at the Worlds (Satan appeared in four Winter Olympics as well, including the 1994 games in Lillehammer.) Aside from his cool surname, Satan will be remembered as one of the most prolific Slovakian players of all time. He currently sits sixth among Slovak scorers in NHL history, with 735 points. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/20/miroslav-satan-calls-it-a-career/

HockeyHound93
He had a very good career, topped of by a stanley cup, but I think he will mostly be remembered for his cool name. It was actually quite interesting to see him play hockey recently. It had been years since I heard his name, I thought he had stopped playing hockey when he left the NHL some time ago. PS he was also one of my favourite players in the older NHL video games.
