It may not be too much longer before Barry Trotz finds a new home.

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger is reporting that the former Nashville Predators head coach was in Washington on Tuesday meeting with Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and president Dick Patrick.

The Capitals missed the playoffs for the first time in six seasons, leading the club to fire bench boss Adam Oates. The Capitals also did not renew the contract of general manager George McPhee following the season.

Trotz, 51, was fired by the Predators after 15 seasons in Nashville; the only coach in the franchise's history.

The Vancouver Canucks are also rumoured to be interested in Trotz.

You, sir, make absolutely zero sense.

Who did Linden miss out on before? Benning?

This isn't even official. It's an interview and he may not be the first choice.

You need to step back from the ledge you're constantly standing next to.

What exactly did we or Linden miss out on again?

Trotz meeting with a washington team about a vacant coaching or GM position?

So....an available coach in the league meets with a team and all of a sudden we are missing out on something? When we JUST announced a signing of a new GM and haven't even had an official press release.

Maybe just maybe your post should read as follows.

Unemployed NHL coach has job interview with another team that needs an NHL coach, we still need a coach.

Instead of

ZOMG Sky is falling GMMG Out GM'd AGAIN!!!! Drafted Kopitarz!1!1!1!!!!! etc....

So, if you talk to a waitress in a coffee shop, do you assume that you're going to get married?

G.
