canuckbeliever
Unfortunately, my computer is being wonky and I cant post any links or copy/paste stuff into this message (weird I know) but notoriously annoying Bruins beat writer Joe Haggerty mentioned this in his latest post where he talked about the reports Benning would be named new GM. Specific words were the following "Alex Kohkolachev was one of Benning's pet players in the Bruins organization, and it will be interesting to see if the Russian prospect's name pops up in any subsequent trade talks between the Bruins and the Canucks this summer" the article is http://www.csnne.com/blog/bruins-talk/report-benning-become-canucks-gm

King Heffy
Pretty big gamble for an undersized Russian. I'd take him for cheap, but I don't want to give up significant assets for him.
Jägermeister
I would definitely do some sort of deal involving Hansen or Higgins to get Khokhlachev in return.

canuckbeliever
Lol at the Hansen+3rd comment. This is hilarious. The guy is 21 and had 57 points in 65 games in his first year in the AHL. Not too shabby.

What gamble are you referring to? It's only speculation that he might go after him and really, the cold war ended a long time ago. The anti-Russian player sentiment on CDC is nonsense. Not too shabby. 3 reasons: 1) 57 points in the AHL 2) He's Russian 3) He's small Hansen and a 3rd is the most I'd comfartably be willing to give up. Absent Canuck
The guy is starting to light up. I highly doubt the Bruins trade him unless its for overpayment. We can draft our own highly skilled wingers .

The anti-Russian player sentiment on CDC is nonsense. Gamble being that he is very small for a top center in the NHL. Even if he isn't a bust, he'll go through some pretty serious growing pains adapting to the NHL game. Is he willing to spend more time in the minors? Losing him to the KHL is a very real possibility; I would prefer not taking that risk unless someone's a potential star.

This above argument could have been made for Jordan Schroeder with the exception of losing him to the KHL...though we already know Jordan is a bust. There is nothing in this article that any offer will be even made just that MAYBE Benning will go after his pet project.

How on earth do we know from a guy who has never played a full season in the league and anchors 3rd and 4th lines? Know another little guy claimed to be a bust that Calgary let walk. Ended up torching the flames on his way to a cup and is now 2 games away from a SCF.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
This kid is amazingly skilled. Wizard with the puck...Koko would be an awesome addition to a prospect pool that packs pure offensive skill. People wonder whether Russian players are willing to stick it out in North America, Khokhlachev is one of those players along with others Slava Voynov who spent 3 years in Manchester before hitting it up big time in LA, Stanislav Galiev, Krill kabanov, Vladislav Namestnikov. I would be stunned if Koko was traded, Boston really covets him.
