Lack is pretty good but I think I would of rather had Krugs 41 points or whatever he had haha. Whatever though, we got 4 solid prospects in goal. If 2 of them become legit starters we get ourselves another Horvat.

I guess we are about to really see what lack is made of here unless they snag a UFA. When you really think about it and how it's happened to other teams, he's gonna be what makes or breaks this transition and next season. Either him or markstrom is gonna have to step up and be lights out while we find our footing here.

I look at a team like LA, they get Sutter Carter and Richards but struggle initially. Quick was the guy that kept em in it and they eventually won the Stanley cup because of it.

I think Eddie is pretty good, a lot of goalies struggle with consistency at first so he's more than likely gonna get better. Doubt he's quick good but he's definitely got potential

I think Lack is good, neither Trevor or Benning seem to be worried about our goalie situation, so I assume they feel Lack will make the grade. Steady Eddie is just that, he seems to be able to shrug off bad goals/games and get back to form immediately. However I am sure being an unproven rookie must be unsettling for everyone except perhaps Benning, he seems to believe in his own ability to assess players and go with that. If we don't bring in another goalie its a huge stamp of approval on Lack ! I am overly cautious, I would probably try and bring someone in, thats why they hired Benning instead of me :P

IMHO Lack's season does not get enough recognition. In a lot of ways Vancouver has been spoilt with their goaltending with Lu

and Schneids. Lack was cruising as Lu's backup and then was thrown in on the stretch run. I thought Tort's made a mistake not

playing Markstrom a couple of those games. I think Lack had 4 SO's and how many more if his defense had not evaporated in\many games.

Stanton: Talk about a guy who flew under the radar. Except for his injury his season would have ranked much higher. His ability

to move the puck out of his own zone is exceptional for a rookie. Rarely did one see any panic. He appears to have a offensive

upside and IMO could have had a 30 point season without an injury. His point shot seems to find the net better than others.

Lack and Stanton's seasons make me think that Van does not have to make a starting goaltender acquisition. Stanton suggests to me that Benning can possibly deal a top 4 dman (Hamhuis, Bieska, Edler, Garrison) to get a player or pick the club wants. Benning will be able to spend saved CAP space where needed.

Don't think his stats reflect his game. They are relatively good but mostly due to when he was backup to Lu. Since Lu was traded, Lack showed he couldn't handle the role of a starter and was inconsistent. He has all the mechanics but needs to be consistent to become a true #1.

As for 3rd best rookie, I don't think he should be ranked thag high imo.

I honestly think Lack can be a great starter this year. He won't be the greatest goalie in the league, or even then top 5, but I feel with him in net we have a chance to win every game, unlike some games last year where he got shaky at times, which comes with experiance

Thank God for that. We got two excellent young goalie talents . We dont need a Bryz or Miller to come in and upset the apple cart. Lack and Markstrom need to develop now.

Been saying this about Lack for a while.

Aside from his obvious burn out this season, general lack of any defensive support and an obvious lack of goal scoring, his record in the last 2 months is not nearly what he is capable of.

He is quick he is incredibly positionally sound, and I truly think had he not just come back from major hip surgery (don't kid yourself 20 years ago that would have been his career) and been thrown to the wolves, had some support in both D and forward departments we would not have finished so abysmally poorly

If him Markstrom and Erikkson do indeed pan out than we are in luck because that's a top ten first round pick along the lines of Horvat at least 2 more times in the next 4-6 years

He played 17 games straight. Did any other vet goalie even do that last year? Plus with our team struggling in every aspect during that time too. I think he held his own pretty good for getting thrown in as main goalie during first nhl year.

Regarding Stanton I was very pleased with what he did this year. Prior to injury he was awesome. Showed similar qualities as Tanev but a little more aggressive with the body. Beiska and Stanton had some chemistry together. He struggled to regain the same ability after the injury but that is expected. I am hoping for a big year from him next year

I feel like Lack is lacking in many areas. Do not forget, this team, no matter how bad it plays, still has a pretty good D-Group.

Hes coming along but Top 3 is not right.

Ever notice how he cant find the puck in traffic? And its not that he cant see it, hes not even fighting to see it. He just goes down and prays i think. His mechanics are still a little slow, side to side, and same with his puck skills.

I can for sure count a dozen games were lost on a simple save.

Lack had a great year and will continue to get better and better......

Lack had a pretty good rookie season.

He was spectacular as a back up but then pretty bad when lui left. If he can find the confidence to play as well as he did when he was a starter then we're set.

Lack was really solid most of the year. Had an ugly stretch for a bit but the situation he was thrown into was ridiculous. I feel that starting the Heritage Classic shook him up a bit and he seems like the type of guy who doesn't mind taking things a little slow to build confidence vs impatiently wanting to be the number one guy.

Lack has never really been a clear cut starter before. He has played 50+ games only once in his pro career, 53 with the Manitoba Moose. Even that year he had Tyler Weiman backing him up, a seasoned 1B goalie in the AHL.

He was thrown into a pretty tough spot and played better than any of us expected. Given how much time he missed prior to the season it was pretty surprising how well he played. If he can stay focused and off of twitter when he's struggling I think he'll be really good with a season of experience under his belt.

Of course you never know with goalies though.
