William_Clarkson
With Stastny (who apparently wants to be resigned by them), MacKinnon, Duchene, and O'Reilly do you see Colorado trying to trade at least one of them (obviously not MacKinnon)? And if so, should Vancouver try to pick up one of them?
Smiley2051
They use O'Reilly at the wing now don't they? Even then you can never have enough centres.

Time Lord
O'Reilly - Duchene - Parenteau Landeskog - Stastny - MacKinnon That's basically 2 1st lines. They have McGinn who can play in the top 6, but I think they would want to keep their top 6 the same. So I don't think they'll be trading a center. I was thinking along the line of trying to get a D-Man back. Maybe one of them in a package for a top 6 player of less caliber and a young defense man. The difference between Colorado and say Chicago is Keith & Seabrook.
Pears
If they put any of their kids on the block it's going to take a serious overpayment to get one of them. I see Colorado getting an upgrade on Parenteau (Gaborik?) and either trading him or moving him to the third line: ROR - Duchene - Gaborik Landeskog - Stastny - Mackinnon McGinn - Talbot - Parenteau/_____ Tanguay - Mitchell - Mcleod That is absolutely filthy. ManUtd
O'Reilly is a LW now and Mack has looked great on Stastny's right. Avs are unlikely to move any of the kids for anything other than a young top pairing D. No, that does not mean Edler. You'd be lucky to get a 1st and decent prospect for him. Would have to add a ton to get O'Reilly and there's really nothing Vancouver has to offer to get anywhere near Landy, Mack, or Dutchy.
asian player
With Mackinnon on ELC, they'll still have massive production from him while seriously underpaying. They have a young group of guy and with a couple moves, they can have some serious depth. None of them are going anywhere
canucks155
IMO they pretty much have to trade ROR. Their defense is just absoultely awful w/ the exception of Johnson and Barrie. Duchene is their best center, Mackinnnon was a beast in his rookie season, Stasny has chemistry w/ Landeskog and Mackinnon, Mitchell and Talbot are good reliable 3rd/4th line centers. ROR is the odd man out. Here's a trade I think they should make: To ANA: ROR To COL: 1 of Lindholm,Vatanen or Fowler, 10th OVR pick, This deal would have to be a sign and trade where Colorado asks him to sign w/ them so he can get traded or w/ some sort of agreement w/ a contract. ROR > Kesler for the Ducks and they give up a bit more to get him. Anaheim gets a legit #2 C and trade away assets that can be easily replaced by their prospect pool. Colarado gets an NHL ready dman to improve their defense and a top 10 pick. (This means we pretty much have to trade Kes to Pit for Poliout and Bennett or something along those lines) Draft Perlini at 10th Draft Sanheim/McKeown w/ their own pick Sign: Mezaros, Pitkanen or Quincy Mac Stasny Landeskog PA Duchene Perlini Johnson Barrie Vatanen Mezaros Elliot Siemens
Toews
Doubt they will want to trade anyone of them. Sharks are another team with similar center depth, Pavelski, Couture, Hertl, Thornton, Marleau. That is just ridiculous.

One injury cost you the series. I like Colorado, so i'm hoping they do the right thing and move ROR for a bonafide experienced D and load up for a run before guys like Landeskog and Mackinnon actually start getting paid. As for Edler, no he doesnt' get ROR 1 for 1 and he had a brutal year but every actual analyst agrees there's about 29 teams that will be calling about him... There's a reason for that. Never said our D was anything but awful. Point still stands that they won't be trading O'Reilly unless a young top pairing (or likely soon to be so) guy is coming back. There will likely have to be pieces thrown in on both sides to even out the value but it would be a deal for a guy like Maata or Josi (too bad Nashville is in the same division). Otherwise they're far more likely to go for more of a project like Kulikov and try and throw money at some stop gap free agents and hope the kids (Bigras, Siemens) take a big step forward. Teams will be calling because it's a buy low scenario with the hope he regains his form. It didn't sound like the Canucks were getting the offers they wanted for Edler last summer and his value has only dropped since then. If the Canucks want a bounty of youngsters, the guy that has to go is Kesler.
