Agoork
I was reading that Calgary has some position weaknesses (Duh) that need filling. They can't do that with a draft pick, and well, they're probably not the most desirable destination for UFA's, and don't want to move some of their upcoming prospects. So, how about this: To CGY: Markstrom (G) + Hansen (RW) + D. Booth (LW) Retain half of Booths salary. To VAN: 4th overall pick Fills 3 immediate needs in Calgary - goalie, veteran checking winger and a power 2nd line winger. Yeah, Booth hasn't lived up to his contract, but he is healthy now and actually played pretty well late last season.. I wouldn't even mind keeping him and letting him play with Kassian for another season and see how it goes. But.... if Linden and Benning want to make a splash with the team, this could be a good 1st move. With the $4 million or so saved, sign a rental goalie for a year or 2 until Eriksson is ready to move up. Or try and snag Schneider when he becomes a free agent again next year ;-) With the 4th, depending on who is still available, we could draft one of: Dal Colle / Bennett / Reinhart / Draisatl
HowYaDrouin
Could be the worst proposal since the days of Ballard + Raymond + 1st.

Drakrami
what about Schroeder, Burrows, Elder, and etc... Might want to throw those in there because they are the pieces " we dont want " -- by most fans.
Nuxfanabroad
There's hatred developing between these 2 again. Over the next few yrs their strategy will be like Burkee's barn-brawl. The league will use this goon-outfit to continuously injure our players. DON'T call there!

Agoork
Seriously people.... instead of just doing a drive by diss, try and give a respectful comment on why you think it sucks. Hansen has been a great 3rd liner - one of my favourite players on the team. I included him in the trade because he has value and Calgary NEEDS a solid defensive veteran winger. He had a bad season last year, just like most of the team, but he's a 3rd liner, and doesn't belong on the 1st or 2nd lines. If he's utilized properly, he's a player many teams would want. Yup, Booth sucked the 1st 2 years of his contract - can't deny that at all. However, he was injured - and now seems to be healthy, so get over it. Even if you think he's worthless, it doesn't mean he's worthless to another team. Yeah, even Ballard and Raymond got signed by other teams... so apparently they weren't worthless either. Markstrom is a good goalie - hell he's our backup. If he's not good enough for another team, what's he doing as our backup? Too many people on her really overvalue some players and undervalue others just because they don't like them. I'm trying to be realistic offering 3 roster players to a team, that fills in holes they have on their team. Heck, they finished near the bottom of the league. This trade helps them a lot more now than a prospect who may not play for another 2 or 3 years. Maybe they want to tank for McDavid though. Who knows. Maybe my idea of what a pick is worth is completely screwed... What would you offer Calgary for their 4th (that didn't include our 6th) ? Enlighten me... It's natural to defend a proposal, but two third liners and an unproven goalie is laughable for a top 5 pick.
Agoork
Even rebuilding teams need a veteran presence in their lineup. So, what do you think it would take to get their pick?

HowYaDrouin
shrinkruak, horvat, 2014(10 Overall from ana) or Hutton, plus some okay now that's overvaluing the pick... and not sure if you meant "and" Hutton, because if you value Ben Hutton as an equivalent to a top 10 pick, then you're actually worse the the OP IMO. With that being said, CGY's holes are much much much bigger than a underachieving PWF making too much money, a role player making too much money, and a goalie who even FLA gave up on. Agoork
Ok, I just went by what I read somewhere. If they don't need a goalie and 3rd liner, sorry, my bad. I don't know what Calgary wants, so this is obviously all conjecture, but IF they were wanting an NHL ready player or 2 inlcluded in any deal, what combination of our players and prospects would it take to get their 4th pick? What about if we had Detroit's 15th (Edler trade if it happens) as well that we could include? # 4 is a desirable pick, so I thought it was worth exploring... Come with a suggestion. * I don't expect to fill ALL of Calgary's holes - just the one(s) we can and that make sense for the trade.

Like the 6th and 10th pick and maybe a b/c prospect or a veteran like Hansen
