chickenman92
Did up this mock draft for a website I write for. Feedback is greatly appreciated http://www.puckrant.com/Calgary_Flames/One_Month_until_Christmas
Herberts Vasiljevs
Crazy because this is actually how I see the top-6 going!I just don't see Virtanen at 7 to Carolina though.
TOMapleLaughs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLas6fFmHl4 CDC would be fairly happy with Dal Colle. However, you've labelled Virtanen a superstar, so are we prepping ourselves for another 'hindsight' drafting failure here? Looks like our pick depends how high a team above us views Nylander's skill. Burke said he doesn't like Leon though. Smokescreen? Meanwhile, Tuch to Anaheim. Yaaay...
Herberts Vasiljevs
IMO, I believe that one of Draisaitl or Dal Colle falls to us.People think that this is close to impossible, but why is that exactly? All it takes is for one of the teams picking ahead of us to prefer one of Ehlers or Nylander (for example) over Draisaitl and Dal Colle. It's not at all far fetched like some of you make it out to be, really.
TOMapleLaughs
I think the 'top-5' is a joke anyway. It's labelled as such to get us all amped about possibly landing one, as if they're sure-fire stars, and beyond them aren't. Who made this up anyway? Canadian hockey media propaganda corps? Dazzle
I knew there'd be a silly post like this though. Of course you did. You know everythinggggggggg. your nearing 10,000 hi kettle... meet pot I don't see your point. I didn't brazenly call some next generation hockey players as "jokes". The joke's on you. Also, you're almost at 5 k posts. Your join date is 4 years younger than mine. You post at a higher rate than I do. The joke's on you.
Absent Canuck
Can we get back to the topic? Here are his picks 1) Ekblad -Florida 2) Bennett- Buffalo 3) Reinhart - Edmonton 4) Daisaitl -Calgary 5) Nylander -Islanders 6) Dal Colle -Van 7) Virtanen - Carolina 8) Ehlers -Toronto 9) Ritchie - Winnipeg 10) Tuch - Ducks This is a good list. The one prediction made here that I disagree with is Jake Virtanen. He is not as good a prospect as Ehlers or Ritchie is. In my opinion he will not be drafted before them. Nylander is a wild card. He could get drafted anywhere from 5th to 12th depending on his combine. Here is my prediction if no team changes position: 1) Ekblad -Florida 2) Reinhart - Buffalo 3) Bennett - Edmonton 4) Dal Colle - Calgary 5) Daisraitl - Islanders 6) Ehlers /Ritchie - Vancouver 7) Ehlers Ritchie - Carolina 8) Nylander -Toronto 9) Virtanen - Winnipeg 10) Perlini - Ducks

Jordan Belfort
I personally think the Oilers would take Draisaitl over Reinhart in that position. They need to get bigger and tougher to play against down the middle, they do so without sacrificing skill in order to obtain it.

Look for him to take Virtanen if Dal Colle doesn't slide. As for Virtanen, I think he's one hell of a prospect. He's kind of a mix of Ehlers and Ritchie, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't want a guy that has 40 pounds on Ehlers and is just as fast.
MJDDawg
If it happened like this I would be ecstatic. Not sure the Flames take Draisaitl or the NYI take Nylander but here's hoping. What's really scary is that the Ducks sitting at #10 will likely get another big, skilled power forward. Just what we need.

I know we have wishful thinking but the way I am hearing it now Daisraitl and Dal Colle are being keyed on . We will get Ritchie or Ehlers.
