Desjardins' Mustache
To Van: 2014 1st round pick To NYI: Higgins, Hansen Why Vancouver does this: we our in a retool situation, and need young, skilled players in our lineup. Why NYI does this: they are in a rebuild situation, and need players that can help them win now, so two depth players in Hansen and Higgins, might be able to boost them up the standings. Do you think this would be a underpayment? please discuss Cheers, Canuck2
Nicklas Bo Hunter
Islanders do not have their pick next year. Buff gets it.
Rush17
Take this years 1st then. That sounds like a legit deal. But if we want to compete now i dont see it happenning since Hansen and higgy are 2 of our better bottom 6 forwards.
Desjardins' Mustache
Islanders do not have their pick next year. Buff gets it. Oh yes, sorry about that, it completely slipped my mind. but i guess we could make it the 2014 its round pick instead. Thx again
Rush17
Sesitio + Booth + Garrison for 2014 1st + 2014/2015 2nd? Allows us to free up cap and lets Mr. Benning and our pro scouting team to pickup couple other highly touted prospects. **Addition: Maybe sub of Sesitio for a low end prospect?* if needed. just an idea :D
Desjardins' Mustache
yes i think that could work as well Sesitio + Booth + Garrison for 2014 1st + 2014/2015 2nd? Allows us to free up cap and lets Mr. Benning and our pro scouting team to pickup couple other highly touted prospects.

Rush17
An eastern team may also be interested in Schroeder but am not sure if adding him to the package would be worth our while. (I guess if it gets the deal done be worth it but i donno up the Mr. Benning.) Shroeder imo could be a very good player for an eastern team. Think Schroeder will be dealt though. Be sweet if we could keep him but I just dont know how he will hold up in our division based on his skill. He would thrive back east
elvis15
The Isles will want a better piece than that for a top 5 pick (or even if it was a potential lottery pick next year as originally proposed). Two top 9 forwards isn't going to entice them when they already have players like Clutterbuck, Nelson, Bailey, Martin and even Nielsen in those roles already. What they need are top 6 left wings and right side defenceman.
Nuxfanabroad
Throw in Markstrom and a D, get another good prospect. DEFINITELY a potential deal that could make sense for both sides.
c00kies
This deal makes no sense for the Islanders, especially since they already don't have a pick next year.
JeremyCuddles
Markstrom Hansen and our 2nd for their first. Only if one of Sam Bennett or Reinhart are still on the board. I was going to say Burr but I doubt he goes there, hell I doubt Hansen goes there. Who do they have in net, Nilsson is gone right? Did they even have his rights? elvis15
Nilsson is an RFA still despite signing in the KHL, as is Poulin. Nabby's a UFA and may not be back, and they just signed Halak. They need a back up, but they also need a quality left winger and right handed D. I don't think Hansen helps them much.
Bure.10
You say islanders are in a rebuild but then you say they need players to win now? Huh?! That makes no sense. And why would they give up a top 5 pick for a couple of 3rd liners?? Especially when they don't have a 1st rounder next year. This would do nothing but set them back Even further. Higgins and Hansen are worth a 2nd rd pick each at best.
