Pears
This is actually hilarious. No one wants to play in Edmonton.
From.The.Point
I hope they dont get Ekblad, someone offer sheets Shultz. I wonder if management is hoping Nurse can crack the lineup next year.

The dude's a drama queen...Eakins should be back coaching in the AHL, but then, that would be an insult to AHL coaches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuoBs8QD6HI

Mustapha
That's too bad. Larsen is a decent depth defenseman. Mark Spector is an idiot if he thinks Larsen couldn't play in the NHL, he was far from bad on the NHL's worst defensive team. That said, I hope the 1 year deal was for a considerable amount more money. HC Yugra is out in the boonies, definitely a 'small market' team. Tangerines
Oilers ruining kids since the early to mid 2000's. I hate when the oilers draft a good young talent b/c you know most likely they're going to be rushed and probably fail to reach their full potential. I sometimes wonder how well some of these younger players do in better organizations? Like lets say Detroit, or Chicago drafted RNH.
mephnick
I'm not sure why RNH was so highly sought after in the first place. Even before the draft people were thinking Landeskog and Huburdeau would make better NHLers. Maybe I'm mis-remembering?

Even before the draft people were thinking Landeskog and Huburdeau would make better NHLers. Maybe I'm mis-remembering? A smallish centre who is a genius on the ice offensively... they thought they were gonna draft the next Gretzky, lol. The problem is that he has minimal supporting cast and is too weak physically for the Western Conference. If things don't turn around, they could potentially have a Patrik Stefan situation where injuries can derail a career.

If things don't turn around, they could potentially have a Patrik Stefan situation where injuries can derail a career. RNH has only played 2* and a half seasons in the NHL. Last season he had a 56 points on a crappy Oilers team. Patrik Stefan never had those numbers even once in his career. Injuries or not, I don't think it's likely RNH will end up like him. I have said it before and I will say it again....the problem isn't with the Oilers' roster, it's with the coaching and management. They still don't have the right people. That roster is far too talented to be competing for last place, even in the West.
