GTA V Thread

Couldn't find a thread on probably the best game of 2013.

Just got the game a week ago and I can't put it down. Anyone still playing this game and like to dick around in free roam? I'd love to get a bunch of guys in an armoured struck or something, drive through the military base and try to get away.

Also any advice on earning cash? My buddies have been inviting me to do the Coveted mission which is great, but I can only do if they want to since I'm only level 13

Still waiting for the heist update FFS.

Are the heists really not up yet? I stopped playing GTA after the first month of it's release. I assumed the heists would have been up by December, but it's almost June. I mean, I haven't played this game since September/October, what makes Rockstar think people are going to flock back once the heists are finally going?

Yeah, it's been a ridiculously long wait. Hope it's worth it. Rockstar says the update will be out "in the spring", which hopefully means it will be out by June 21.

No. We are 2014, the game came out in 2013. So it's game of 2013

Off the top of my head I can name two games that were infinitely better then GTA V: The Last of Us and Papers, Please. You know what GTA V is? It's GTA 4, but released in 2013.

Last of us is good, but you beat it and you're done with it. The game just starts collecting dust. There's just so much more to do in GTA

That is true it is a one and done game more or less, but I dont have a PS3 anyways but I beat it at my friends house and thought it was fantastic. But yeah I haven't had an urge to play it again, but that campaign is such a masterpiece.

^^^ And personally, I don't base a GoTY candidate on whether I can play it over and over and over again. If that were the case, then sports games should win year after year. It took me longer to finish GTA V then it did Papers, Please or The Last of Us, but I still think about the other two, even after finishing them almost a year ago. Whereas GTA V didn't even stick with me when I was playing it. Drive. Shoot. Heist. Drive. Murder. Murder. Heist. Not that it wasn't impressive, but it wasn't a game where I went, "Wow, I've never seen this before."

The Last of Us single player campaign's story and feel is a lot better than the GTA campaign, but GTA is better overall game with the huge open free world, online multiplayer and free roaming.

GTA online is a lot of fun if you play with people you know, theres an endless amount of stuff you can do. But if you go in there alone, its incredibly boring.

Too make cash just grab a couple buddies and do Survival. 10 round (takes up 14-15 mins) and you get 20k for completing it.

Or you can go to your contact job on your phone, and it will likely put you into a job called rooftop rumble with other users. The job pay out is 18k, and it only takes 5-7mins to complete.

I got bored of this game awhile ago. Haven't played it in months.

There's just nothing I'm interested in doing anymore, and online is just the same little missions over and over.

I once said that I'm not going to go back until Heists are added......and that was months ago so I'm not sure when. I've seen the ad for them coming in the spring though so that's positive.

I feel like Heists might end up being a disappointment because we've waited so long.

Also I'm on the bandwagon for The Last of Us being better than GTA V. Especially the story. I don't remember a ton of the GTA V story, yet I remember basically all of TLoU story.

The last of us didn't do anything revolutionary. Yea the story was good, but outside of that it's a 3rd person shooter. I'm a huge naughty dog supporter, but the uncharted games blow the last of us out of the water IMHO. I just had a much more enjoyable time playing them than I did the last of us

I found TLoU gameplay better than Uncharted. It was just way more stealth-based and seemed to draw me in more with all the infected creatures.

Although, a little funny that I have the DLC and still haven't finished it. Not sure why I just stopped playing in the middle of it.
