kesler#17
To Montreal Alex Edler + 3rd To Vancouver Brendan Gallagher +2nd Canucks get a hometown kid with some heart while the canucks swap picks which will only be 10-15 spots forward pending the series against the Rangers. To Minny Jordan Schroeder To Van Jason Zucker Minnesota looking to add a hometown kid with some wheels. Zucker expendable with coyle/granlund stepping up
JeremyCuddles
Gallagher was born in Edmonton so I wouldn't classify him as a "Hometown kid". And I'm not sure if another 3rd line tweener is gonna get us back into the playoffs nor do I believe Montreal needs another d-man not sure though. On top of the ntc yadda yadda cliché cliché. timberz21
I'm pretty sure MTL will re-sign Markov. Add Emelin, PK and Gorges and MTL's top 4 is pretty much set. Tinordi and Beaulieu are ready too, so I doubt they can make room for Edler, specially with PK's expected raise.
Toews
Minnesota declines that deal pretty easily. At this point you are better off keeping Schroeder if you think he is going to be more than he is. No team is going to trade serious assets for an undersized center who is also waiver eligible. Although I was never really much of a fan of Schroeder, I haven't seen him play in ages. I doubt that he has much value left anymore though. If a team was really high on him they might offer a 4th round pick. He is not worth much more than what the Canucks acquired Dalpe for. Alex Burrows 14
I actually really like that Montreal trade. Montreal needs d men. I know that other people will disagree but Markov sucks. He is old and too tired for top 4 minutes. He would be good in a limited role. Subban gorges emelin and Edler is much better. Markov can even show Edler how to qb a pp. Gallagher is a great player, I wouldn't call him a tweener, top 6 for sure. The energy he brings is unreal and especially for someone so small. He is very feisty and he is what we need here. Maybe add prust for cap reasons. Sedin Sedin Kassian Stastny Kesler Gallagher Burrows Matthias Higgins Santorelli Richardson Hansen Prust Hamhuis Bieksa Boyle Tanev Garrison Greene Weber Lack Markstrom Cup. I stopped reading at "Markov sucks". He was good for 43 points this year. That would the him for third in scoring on the Canucks with Kesler

You could use that to describe Edler as well. Why would MTL bring in more of the same? Esp if it mean giving up one of their heart and soul players

If anything he would replace Markov at the minimum

Esp if it mean giving up one of their heart and soul players I watch every Habs game. Markov is a little slow but makes excellent decisions defensively Markov 43 points +12 Edler 22 points -39 Do you really want to continue with the "Edler can easily replace Markov because Markov sucks" arguement ?
