canucksVSflames89
I read an article today regarding the possibility that Mike Richards may be bought out. If so, do you think the Canucks should pursue signing him?
Jiggs50
Threads in the wrong place. But hellss yes we should. I don't understand why he would get bought out...
Me_
I'll take Mike Richards any day of the year. IF Jeff Carter is also available, I would no mind a bit.
Baka
Threads in the wrong place. But hellss yes we should. I don't understand why he would get bought out... There have been rumors that he would be bought out to free up cap for resigning players like Gaborik. Richards production has declined tremendously. Only 11 goals and 41 points this season. He is seeing as little as 10 minutes of ice in some of these playoff games and has been demoted to the 4th line a few times. Given he is the 2nd highest paid forward on the Kings and going on 30 with a lot of years left on his contract he has become expendable and likely the 1st casualty to meet other team cap needs. CanucksSayEh
He kinda sucks now.. more of what we have.. guys who don't score consistently. Sure, he may have a good playoff resume, but we need to worry about getting to the show now before we worry about how we dress..
Absent Canuck
If he signed for under 4 mil for 3 years I take him. His skills are deteriorating quicker than normal. He is on a huge forever contract which makes him worthless in trade. Kings would have to send a nice prospect with Richards to take him off their hands. http://www.capgeek.com/player/

If so, do you think the Canucks should pursue signing him? A lot of people can argue he should be signed. It can mean we have teh second line all figured out and make teh playoff next year

JeremyCuddles
F*** yeah we should, especially if we move Kesler. Guy is pretty much Kesler who moves the puck. Ed for Richards straight up.

DeltaSwede
If Kesler is traded and he is bought out. Yes, absolutley we should attempt to sign him.
Canuck Surfer
41 point top defensive centers do not get bought out. Any friendly wagers? edit: They have $13 mill to re-sign King, Mitchell, Green and Gaborik. King wont get much, $900K maybe? Even if they pay Green and Mitchell the same (which they won't have to) there is near $5 mill. There is NO dilemma. They only do it to re sign all their young D the year after. Still can't see it. http://capgeek.com/kings/

chrisbanks
the guy is worth half of what hes making now at best. 23 goals 50 assists -14 doesnt sound horrible .. until you realize thats over the last 2 seasons....he payed all 130 games to he did not miss 1. Boudrias
This is the last year for 'buy-outs'. Could be some interesting deals by draft day. IMHO the 'buy-out' option should be tradeable. Van has one more buy-out available and most assume it will be used on Booth but I do not assume that.
yogolol
Umm no? Guys we're rebuilding why are we signing a 30 year old that's past his time? Stoll plays a bigger role than Richards on that LA team and some people want to trade edler for him?? He's not even close to the same player he use to be, I'd rather resign santerolli/ put a rookie in the lineup
