Heretic
Angel City in North America. RIP Doc - saw them at the Coliseum on their Night Attack tour back in the early 80's. Doc Neeson, one of Australia’s finest and the singer for the Angels from 1974 though the end of the ’90s, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 67 years old. A post by his partner Annie Souter on Neeson’s Facebook page broke the news. “It is with deep sadness and regret that the family of Angels singer/songwriter Bernard ‘Doc’ Neeson — loving father, family member and friend to so many — announce he has passed away in his sleep at 7.15am, today, 4th June 2014.” Neeson had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2012 and though it was removed in 2013, an MRI scan earlier this year showed it had returned. “He will be deeply missed by his family and partner Annie Souter who would all like to thank everyone for their support through this dark time,” continued the posting. Angels bassist Chris Bailey died after his own cancer battle just over one year ago. The Facebook announcement regarding Neeson’s passing ended poignantly with a quote from Shakespeare. “Good Night, Sweet Prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” Though the Angels never made it big outside of their home country, they had a loyal fan base that included famous peers such as Guns N’ Roses and Cheap Trick. You can check them out in their prime below. Ghostsof1915
NOOOOOOOOOO! The Angels were one of the best bands hardly ever anyone heard of. Bad label support, and it was hard with The Angels name taken in North America. That sucks! RIP Doc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ndq5Ed-zMsI Still love their music sounds as fresh as when they first recorded it.

Ghostsof1915
HOLY F@#K!!! How have I never heard that before!?!?! It sounds like Meatloaf meets the Dead Boys F'n awesome! I have no idea why I've never heard of this band before....anyway, they are great! It's partly due to the label they had. They literally had no support, and I can't ever remember hearing them on radio. The band couldn't use their name in North America because there was already a group called The Angels. So they were known as Angel City, or even The Angels from Angel City. My brother had all their North American albums, that's how I learned about them. They should have been more popular. I loved their music.
