(Proposal) Restock and Retool

Recommended Posts

Garrison, Gaunce, 2nd, 2nd for 8th overall.

Toronto gets an upgrade at D and three prospects for 8th overall.

Vancouver gets a physical d man they need at a reasonable cap hit and 8th overall for Gaunce who isn't really needed as we already have Cassels. And a couple of picks.

Then we trade 8th overall, Hansen, Burrows for 3rd overall from Edmonton.

Edmonton moves down 5 spots but picks up Hansen and Burrows, two top 9 gritty players they need and some veterans to mentor the younger guys.

Vancouver moves up 5 spots and loses Hansen who would be buried here and burrows who would sting but can be replaced for cheaper.

Draft Reinhart at 3

Draft Nylander at 6

Pray they are still there when we pick.

Buyout Booth

Roster before free agency:

Sedin Sedin Kassian

Reinhart Kesler Jensen

Higgins Matthais Horvat

Sestito Richardson Santorelli

Dalpe

Hamhuis Bieksa

Edler Tanev

Stanton Corrado

Lack

Markstrom

With Nylander, Shinkaruk, Cassels and Fox coming up.

Kassian at 2

Tanev at 2

Santorelli at 1.5

Reinhart at 925k

Dalpe at 600k

18.7 million in cap space! So we could sign anyone. Maybe another top 6 player? Maybe another top 4 dman.

So to the Leafs, Gleason is a cap dump....

but to us he's a "physical d man at a reasonable cap hit"

That makes sense.

I'm sure Toronto can get way better and something that will help them immediately for their 8th overall. Garrison is hardly an upgrade on Reilly, Phaneuf, Franson, Gunnarson and Gardiner

Toronto isnt selling the 8th overall unless its to upgrade the pick or downgrade slightly to gain a solid roster player.

I have no idea why we make proposals that ripoff the other teams by offering a bunch of quantity for quality.

I blame EA for making kids think these kind of proposals are realistic. Trade won't go through? Add more inconsequential crap until it does

I took out Gleason.

WHAT? WHY? He's the only one with value in this trade.

NJ trade the 9th overall pick for Cory Schneider. Carolina traded their 8th overall and a third liner for Jordan Staal.

If Toronto trades their 8th overall it's for a roster player with that kind of impact, not a utility 4th/5th defenseman and a couple of picks/prospect.

Garrison is an impact player. He is a top 4 dman on a good contract and Gaunce is a solid prospect and then yes they get two pretty good picks.

I guess we don't have the same definition of "IMPACT". You're telling me Garrison has the same impact has J.Staal or Schneider on a team? No wonder you think your proposal is gold.

He's paid the same as Hamhuis and Bieksa, which he got from having 1 good season on the powerplay. They both proved they can play top 2 minutes, not Garrison. I don't call that a good contract (not the worse, but not good).

Actually that's not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying he is an impact player. He is a top 4 dman. I'm not saying he is top 2. Hamhuis and Bieksa are underpayed. 4.6 for a top 4 dman is a good deal. He didn't have just one good year. The year before was pretty good too. He is a good two way dman. Adding Gaunce and 2 second round picks help male up the fact that garrison isn't a staal or schneider.
