ken kaniff
Vancouver: C Ryan Kesler, D Jason GarrisonColorado: C Ryan O'Reilly (RFA), D Stefan Elliot, 2014 3rd round draft pick(What might need to be added to get this to happen? I think its fair as is but you guys always have different opinions)Colorado is looking to compete now. This gives them 2 vets to add to their crop of young players. Kesler can play C or RW. He gives them a premier shutdown center man that they could use to free up Duchene and MacKinnon for offense. Garrison gives them a solid defenseman with a bomb of a shot. Upgrades their top 4 and gives them a good partner for Barrie.Draft LW Nikolai Ehlers or RW/C William Nylander at 6th overallSigningsC Ryan O'Reilly 5 years @ 6.5mill perRW Zack Kassian 2 years @ 1.75mill perC/RW Mike Santorelli 2 years @ 2mill perC Zac Dalpe 1 year @ 750 000D Chris Tanev 4 years @ 3mill perD Yannick Weber 2 years @ 850 000 perD Clayton Stoner 2 years @ 900 000 perDaniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin-Niklas JensenAlex Burrows-Ryan O'Reilly-Zack KassianChris Higgins-Bo Horvat-Mike SantorelliTom Sestito-Shawn Matthias-Brad RichardsonZac DalpeDan Hamhuis-Kevin BieksaAlex Edler-Stefan ElliotRyan Stanton-Chris TanevYannick WeberClayton StonerEddie LackJacob MarkstromFuture top 6Hunter Shinkaruk-Ryan O'Reilly-Niklas JensenEhlers/Nylander-Bo Horvat-Zack Kassian

canucks155
ROR > Kes. Also, Garrison may not waive and Colorado probably wouldn't want him since he struggled this year. Draft Ritchie at 6th. High risk, MASSIVE reward.

Fox Mulder
You've said why the trade works for Colorado but what about for Van? I know ROR would be fantastic in Canuck colors but what about Stefan Elliot? I don't know anything about him. Based on that I would say we are way over paying but if you could share some insight on Elliot that would help!

Based on that I would say we are way over paying but if you could share some insight on Elliot that would help! Elliot is a young offensive defenseman. He's been great in the AHL and the call ups he has had he looked decent. Could be a good partner for Edler or it could be awful. If that's the case an Edler-Tanev pairing would be good. But ya he has potential to be a PP QB and good point producer on the back end. He's young and doesn't have much experience in the NHL but he could be good. Plus hes from north van. Removing 2 vets for younger blood is either a great deal or a you're gonna get fired kind of deal. If Elliot could turn into a #3-4 D man then it definitely benefits both teams. Kicker for me would be whether ROR signs a long term deal with us for a reasonable amount of $. $6-7 million per season brings high expectations and would give us a top line with roughly a $20 mil cap hit. Ryan Strome
Well ror is better then kes and a lot younger, while garrison doesn't have much value also you have us gaining a pick and decent prospect. Not even close imo, sorry.

Meanwhile speculation in Vancouver has him as a possible buy out candidate but sure. Also that package doesn't come close to the one op wants. There youth for our 30 year olds. Meanwhile they're a playoff team while we aren't. Makes no sense.

He must suck despite having more points than any other admen on our team. A decent plus minus on a bad team and a good Corsi rating. Yup makes sense. Dont believe everything you hear. You said it yourself. Colorado is a playoff team. This makes them a better playoff team by adding vets and upgrading their defense. It does make sense.Garrison is an upgrade on their defense. Keeler is a veteran forward who has been to the finals and could give a lot to young players like Duchene and MacKinnon.
