DownUndaCanuck
The way I see it, the Canucks are trying to rebuild a new young core while still aiming to make the playoffs and contend next season. Right now, our prospect pool is seriously lacking any top line talent and we don't really have a #1 defenceman in our ranks apart from say Edler or Tanev. With Florida likely to throw their 1st overall pick away for a considerable amount (rumour has it Kadri and Phaneuf may be involved - we can't and shouldn't match that), we should go for the 2nd overall. Whoever gets taken with the 1st overall pick changes our moves. We still end up with the best player at their respective positions (Reinhart or Ekblad) and have pieces to move later on. FIRST: Trade Garrison, Hansen and 6th overall to Buffalo in exchange for 2nd overall. If Buffalo want to build around young players, give them Gaunce instead of/including Hansen. Now, depending on who gets picked with the 1st overall, we make our moves accordingly: 1) Florida/whoever draft Ekblad 1st overall. Canucks trade Kesler and Corrado to the Bruins in exchange for Dougie Hamilton or Torey Krug. We get a franchise defenceman, they get a 2nd line center, a good future top-4 defenceman and they still have Krug or Hamilton on their blueline. The Bruins needed scoring last playoffs and Kesler would be ideal, plus we get him out of our conference. Sedin - Sedin - Jensen Kassian - Reinhart - Higgins Burrows - Santorelli - Booth Horvat - Richardson - Matthias Edler - Krug/Hamilton Hamhuis - Tanev Bieksa - Stanton Weber 2) Florida/whoever draft Reinhart 1st overall. Canucks draft Ekblad to fill Garrison's minutes and leave Kesler. Sedin - Sedin - Jensen Higgins - Kesler - Kassian Burrows - Santorelli - Booth Horvat - Richardson - Matthias Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Ekblad Bieksa - Corrado Stanton Weber
ken kaniff
Boston says no to that. They have Bergeron who is a better Kesler. Of we're trading keys, give him to Anaheim and draft Haydn Fleury with the 10th pick. He has potential to be a top pairing defenseman.
canucks155
1. Garrison won't waive and Buffalo wouldn't want him anyways. Change it to Corrado or Tanev and they may accept it. 2. If there's 1 position that the Bruins don't need help at, it's center. W/ Krejci and Bergy as their 2 centers, they don't need Kesler, who's also hated by the Bruins and their fans. I also doubt Kesler waives to go to Boston due to the history.
Spotted Zebra
Krug isn't a franchise dman lol
Switzer18
You're way over hyping Krug, I hope to god Kesler is worth more than that in a trade. And for your second option there is no way Kesler is ok with staying unless his linemates drastically improve IMO.
