nitwitt
Ok so Kesler is he staying or is he going? We all love Kes, he's a player that we can all appreciate, he's everything you would want in a player and he deserve's a chance to win now. His value is very high and if he was a UFA I could see him signing for no less then 7.5 mil./year. That kind of quantifies what Kesler's value would be in a trade. The Canucks have to get an super elite prospect(can't miss guy), a roster player(no less a top 9 fwd or top 4 def.) and a first round(10-20th overall). That would be fair value for Kesler. So I think we should be looking for the very best prospect we can... TRADE 1: Vancouver sends Kesler,Hansen and 2nd rd 2014 to Tampa Bay for Jonathan Drouin, Brett Connolly and 1st rd(19 overall) 2014 We don't recieve that roster player but we get a super elite prospect,Both Drouin and Connolly are ready to play next year and could have decent impacts. Further, to our new regime making a big splash the Canucks then deal with Florida. TRADE 2: Vancouver sends Garrison, Gaunce and 1st rd(6th overall) 2014 to Florida for 1st overall 2014- drafts Reinhart or Ekblad... Ekblad is ready and could make an decent impact as well, regardless either player instantly becomes our top prospect and will eventually be an elite player in the NHL. But wait the Canucks Brass is not done, TRADE 3: Vancouver sends Bieksa, 1st rd(19 overall recieved from T.B.) to Carolina for 7th overall 2014- Jake Virtanen The Canucks love this kid, size, speed, shot plus skill and he's a BC kid- this kid will be a top 6 power forward in the NHL 3-4 years from now. With all that said the Canucks should sign Paul Statsny for 4 years @ 7.5 mil and D. Alferdson 2 years @ 6 mil New look lines: SEDIN SEDIN ALFERDSON DROUIN STATSNY KASSIAN SHINKURAK HORVAT B.CONNOLLY BURROWS MATTHIAS HIGGINS Now that's a rebuild and my take on what kind of direction this team needs to take... AriGold
TRADE 1: Vancouver sends Kesler,Hansen and 2nd rd 2014 to Tampa Bay for Jonathan Drouin, Brett Connolly and 1st rd(19 overall) 2014 If I'm Tampa Bay I wouldn't trade Drouin straight up for Kesler Hansen and a 2nd. Let alone Drouin, Connolly and a 1st. Not a damn chance..

canucks155
Kesler getting no less than $7.5m? Stopped reading after that. He's not worth more or the same as Gaborik, Sedins, or other superstars. Ridiculous...
Phil_314
No way Drouin goes anywhere, Yzerman's not stupid. Kesler+ for Namestnikov, Kucherov and a first? I'd go for that in a heartbeat, (wouldn't mind Killorn/ Palat's RFA rights or Koekkoek instead, or having Paquette as a throw-in). Seeing the wealth of young talent the Lightning have makes me think that they would take a shot at getting Kes.
Kevo882
I actually really like the TB deal for the Canucks but don't think TB would do it. They might. You're not too far off in my opinion. All depends on if and how much they sign Callahan for. If he walks, I say they would have some interest in Kes. Stastny I would only sign if Kes gets dealt and we don't have to overpay. Alfredson: maybe. Is getting older and production is dropping off but still a great leader and might form some chemistry with the Sedins Bieksa-Carolina deal: Bieksa isn't going anywhere. He's the heart and soul of the Canucks. Carolina could use some help on D but it won't come in the form of Bieksa.
420since1974
Being from Calgary, I would caution you about Virtanen. He got into a fight in the 3rd period of the last meaningless game of the WHL season and got himself injured. He was ineffective when he returned, and that was one big reason the Hitmen lost in the first round of the playoffs. I feel he is either stupid or selfish at this point in his career.
