Desjardins' Mustache
To Philly: Ryan Kesler, Chris Higgins, 6th Overall, Corrado To Van: B. Schenn, L. Schenn, Wayne Simonds, 17th overall. We do this, because we need youth. Philly has youth, so it works out. They do this because they need a real 2nd line centre. Higgins already has chemistry with Kes, and they get a top player this year. To Fla: 17 overall, Hansen, Stanton, Gaunce To Van: Barkov If Florida trades their 1st overall, they will likely get a top 10 pick which means they can draft their Ehlers. They also get to draft a high calibre player, e.g. Ho Sang. We get rid of Hansen who might not fit into our retool and acquire a great young centre in Barkov. Buy out Booth. Sign Santorelli @ 2 yrs 2 mill Sign Gaborik @ 4 yrs 7.5 mill We will have to overpay a lot ,but the way he's playing now its definitely worth it. Sign Thorton @ 2 yrs 1.75mill Assign Barkov to Utica Our 2014-2015 lineup Sedin Sedin Gaborik Shinkaruk B. Schenn Simmonds Jensen Santorelli Kassian Burrows Richardson Thorton Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler- Tanev Garrison - L. Schenn Lack Markstrom Now thats a contending team. Please leave your thoughts and discuss. cheers, Canuck2 NUCKS FOR LIFE
Warhippy
So...Fla gives up Barkov, their #1 or #2 centerman of the future, a top 3 pick in one of the deepest drafts in a decade chosen over wunderkid Seth Jones For the 17th overall a 5-6 defenseman and a 3rd line winger? canuck_forever
We'd have to pay more for Barkov, that's for sure.
Tom Sestito
Warhippy opposed to a quantity for quality deal? lol.
Whale Tail
I think Shink needs a year or so in AHL. after surgery etc etc. and Matthias is gone from the line up as well.
Pears
Why on earth would we trade for Barkov and send him to the AHL?

Philadelphia trade I'm not too sure about, but I don't think that would work. Florida rejects for sure. Gaborik is about to win a cup beside Kopitar, you think he plans on signing here? lol Shinkaruk makes the team while Barkov doesn't.
Baka
Philadelphia's 2nd line goes from... Lecavalier - Schenn - Simmonds to Higgins - Kesler - Lecavalier Higgins had 17 goals, Kesler had 25 Schenn had 20 goals, Simmonds had 29 Higgins had 39 points, Kesler had 43 Schenn had 41 points, Simmonds had 60 Higgins avg 19:10 a game, Kesler avg 21:49 a game Schenn avg 15:45 a game, Simmonds avg 16:46 a game Schenn and Simmonds are both much younger than Kes and Higgins (Schenn has upside still). Schenn needs a contract but Simmonds only makes 3.975 million a year for the next 5 years. Basically Philly's production dips from this deal this doesn't make that 2nd line any better. Corrado wouldn't be a high demand ether. He is no better than numerous of Philly's defensive prospects in Morin, Gostisbehere, Hagg, and Alt. The 6th would be alright but obviously Philadelphia's main goal now isn't getting draft picks. Really it isn't what Philly needs or is looking for. And Barkov well that was just bad. Pretty much what has been said. He is an elite prospect and you gave up nothing to get him then strangely enough put him in the AHL. The only way Barkov gets traded is if FLA is getting back an arm and a leg.
