William Nylander

I really think the Canucks should take this kid at 6. He's a phenomenal player. His play-style is simply beautiful. I mean, I was all in for Dal Colle if he fell to us before, But after seriously looking into this kid, and checking him out, I was shocked that we have such a great chance of getting this guy. His offensive talent and awareness is outstanding and off the charts, He is THEE most pure offensively talented player in this years draft and we simply must draft him.

He has lightning quick speed, and some nasty hands. That kid can stick-handle in a phone booth. He has a nice shot, and brilliant playmaking ability. Not to mention, he has excellent puck control, especially at high speeds. Nylander dominated the World U18's and I have no doubt in my mind that he will dominate the NHL for years to come. And since he's a Right Winger, he can even play alongside the Sedins for as long as we keep them. I can't think of a better match.

Another reason why we should draft him, is that he's Swedish. I mean, that's perfect. He and the Sedins can bond very well if Benning decides to keep the Sedins for next year or the year after. I've also been sick of waiting one or two years for our prospects to make our NHL team. But Nylander is different. He can step into the team from day one since he has been playing with men over in Sweden. Nylander has the potential to be a 90+ point guy in the NHL, his ceiling is incredibly high, even higher than Ehlers.

Nylander is literally like a right handed Patrick Kane, with almost Hagelin-like speed. Nylander could well become the next franchise player in Vancouver and become the new Pavel Bure. Down below, I have put his stats and his info.

Position: Right Wing Shoots: Right

Height: 5'11'' Weight: 181 lbs

Born: May 1, 1996 Hometown: Stockholm, Sweden

Birthplace: Calgary, AB, CAN

13/14 - Sodertalje SK: GP 17, G 11, A 8, P 19

13/14 - Sweden U18: GP 7, G 6, A 10, P 16

I know the mods will most likely lock this but I don't know why. There is a Ehlers thread and a few other threads about Ritchie and Virtanen that they never locked so it should be fair game.

On topic though, I agree with you 100 percent. He is 5'11 181 pounds and people say hes too small, yet Claude Giroux a PPG player in the NHL is 5'11 172. People keep bs-ing saying he has dad issues or isn't committed when his own father played in the NHL, you would think he would teach him how to and he showed up in possibly the best shape out of everyone at the combine.

I would be very happy to pick him at 6th.

If we could somehow get the number 1 pick as well and draft Reinhart we would be doing amazing.

More excited about this draft than any other, ever

Yes I too would like to know. Florida is openly shopping it and there are numerous rumours saying they want Ehlers. All signs show us and Florida make beautiful trading partners. Well as far as rumours go. :P

100% agree.

I don't know what we have that a rebuilding team in Buffalo would want that we should consider trading away.

Knee Lan Dare!

He's gonna be good, who know what happens, but I'm totally okay with taking this guy at 6. It's the sorta gamble that can really pay dividends down the road.

Plus his leg strength and endurance are world class for his age.

Oh and did we mention he dangles. Oh ya, he dangles.
