2inthecup
Following the model of a young roster player, prospect and pick. To Van - Marcus Johansson, Andre Burakovsky, 1st 2014 (13th) To Was - Ryan Kesler To NYI - Chris Tanev, Jannik Hansen To Van - Ryan Strome NYI has a few young centres in Tavares, Neilson, Bailey and Strome. If they are looking to compete this year Tanev and Hansen will add depth to there lineup and make them more competitive than last year as Strome only played 37 games. I honestly don't know what Stromes valuation is as he hasn't played too much but has put up great numbers in the OHL and AHL. We will be giving up a 24 year old top 5 D and a 28 year old top 9 forward who has trended up every year except last. Sign Salo 1 year @ $3,000,000 (play with Edler) Sign Stoner 3 year @ Clayton Stoner 3 year @ $1,500,000 (big stay at home defence) Gives some cap space to play around, CAPGEEK.COM ARMCHAIR GM ROSTERCapGeek Armchair GM RosterFORWARDSAlexandre Burrows ($4.500m) / Henrik Sedin ($7.000m) / Nicklas Jensen ($0.863m) Daniel Sedin ($7.000m) / Ryan Strome ($0.863m) / Zack Kassian ($2.500m) Chris Higgins ($2.500m) / Marcus Johansson ($2.000m) / Andre Burakovsky ($0.894m) David Booth ($4.250m) / Brad Richardson ($1.150m) / Shawn Matthias ($1.750m) Tom Sestito ($0.750m) / DEFENSEMENAlexander Edler ($5.000m) / Sami Salo ($3.000m) Jason Garrison ($4.600m) / Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) / Ryan Stanton ($0.550m) Frank Corrado ($0.591m) / Clayton Stoner ($1.500m) GOALTENDERSJacob Markstrom ($1.200m) Eddie Lack ($1.150m) BUYOUTSKeith Ballard ($0.000m) RETAINED SALARIES (1.13% of upper limit)Roberto Luongo ($0.800m—15.00%) ------CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)(estimations for 2014-15)SALARY CAP: $71,100,000; CAP PAYROLL: $63,511,944; BONUSES: $858,333CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $7,588,
jdatb
Tanev + Hansen won't get us Strome, I'm pretty sure.
Zoolander
I like this proposal for the sole reason our offense would be stacked in a few years time, especially if we drafted some rugged bottom 6 forwards like Brendan Lemieux and Trent Hunter. However, our defence takes a few steps back. We lose our best young defenceman and gain nothing in return (Not to mention losing Kes on the PK)If it were my choice I'd still try to trade Kesler to ANA (1st option) or PITT (2nd option). I also think that NYI deal is a lot more equal than people on here think. Tanev isn't a name other fan bases think of but I'm sure the much more experienced guys in NHL head offices notice his contributions
DrChill
I like the idea of both trades.... Not sure u get that much 2centers out of wash... Replace Johansson with Bowey.. Bowey,Burokowsky,1st For Kes Would prefer to sent Garrison to Isles, reason is salary and pairs... Garrison has good value as well. Garrison and Hansen and 3rd(??) for Strome

A deal with ANA involving Smith-Pelly/Etem, Theadore and 10th would be great too.
