Recommended Posts

Hi there I was worrying about getting rick Nash because I am still think we should take him on the canucks and I saw his games vs the kings he is doing so well and I would want to get him so much he is good fit for Ryan kesler rick nash and Marian Gaborik its the best line they can play together win every game for Vancouver canucks and I hope that go for next session in the fall

so lets make a deal with the kings and new York too

if you want to message me about it I will be happy looking forward

2 thing try to get better player okay let me know by tomorrow

Well,

Unless NYR buys out Nash we probably won't get him because NYR will want alot for him, even though he's not worth alot, his reputation is better than he is.

That being said, he still has talent and is big, and would be a great second line winger or winger for the twins if he was bought out. I still think we'd have to pay alot contract wise because many teams would make him offers, most actually.

As for Gaborik, he definitely has played well in the playoffs and hasn't really slowed down points wise but his ability to stay healthy, he's had as many injured seasons as non injured in his career.

He's also 32 and would be taking away an opportunity for a guy like Kassian or Jensen, which I don't think is wise now, we need to get younger not older.

Would I add them both as free agents if they came cheap and we kept Kesler/were taking a run at it, yes. But given they wont come cheap, and we're not keeping Kesler...no point, go with youth

Ideally those would be nice players, but they're both very expensive and getting older. The Canucks need to get younger.

Rick Nash isn't worth his 7.8 million cap hit. There are better players for less. And i doubt NYR shells out the big bucks to buy him out. Gaborik is too old and fragile to play for us now. One injury and boom he's done.

To be honest, I believe the Rangers would be in the Finals, with or without Nash.

Just like with Team Canada he tagged along for both gold medals, but you can't say he really helped the team (he didn't hurt them, but didn't really help either).

It would be a waste of asset trying to trade for this guy. It would probably cost more/same than the first overall, and I'd rather go for Ekblad or Reinhart.

Nash is the most overrated player in the league. I wouldn't want him even for $2 million. He just sucks in any big game and never raises the level of his play. Why would we want him and yet think that Kesler's time is up. Kesler is better than Nash in every way.

A couple of things, this forum is not for things you'd like to see happen (aka proposals), only things that are actual trades or signings, or rumours about trades or signings. If you do have a thread about that, it should have a tag (like [Trade] or [signing]) and a link to a source. And for proposals like this one, they also need tags (like [Proposal], [Value Of] or [Discussion]) and should be posted in this part of the forum:

Proposals and Armchair GM'ing

But then I'm pretty sure I've said this before, or at least something similar, in your first thread that no longer exists.

Another is 'other player' doesn't really tell us what you're looking for. But then you mention Gaborik in the post so I'd assume that's who you were talking about. Well there's this thing called a salary cap, and even if it's going up next year, it's not going up enough to allow us to fit in Nash and Gaborik.

Last thing is this. You might want to stay away from creating new threads and just comment on threads other people are making until you get the hang of things. Clearly your more recent efforts aren't winning you any friends, and spotlighting it by creating a thread is no way to get ahead on CDC.

I would. Nash had 9 GWG this season. 29 years old. 4 years on contract. Used to the West. Decent cap hit due to the back loaded contract. Former London Knight would look good next to Horvat. Could even knock Daniel from the #1 LW spot, in case our current 1st line winger doesn't bounce back.

I would go as high as one of Burrows/Booth/Higgins/Hansen + Kassian + Corrado. High price but I would. Most equivalent players are unattainable as they play for rivals.

Vigneault has many strengths but utilizing big guys is not one of them IMO. The fact that Nash is not fitting in doesn't surprise me. Nash in CHI, ANA, SJS, LAK would be completely different IMO.
