Warhippy
Well we are right back to this nonsense. 6 weeks of it pre trade day and now weeks more pre UFA. Let's try to keep this all in one place shall we. =============================================================================== Good as gone? According to Andy Strickland of Fox Sports Midwest, defenceman Dan Boyle is highly unlikely to sign with the New York Islanders. Strickland reports that Boyle, 37, is looking to sign with a contender. The Islanders traded a conditional 2015 fifth-round draft pick for the rights to the unrestricted free agent last week. If Boyle were to sign with the Islanders, the pick returning to the San Jose Sharks would improve to a fourth-round selection. Staying in Beantown? Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com reports the Boston Bruins have started contract negotiations with veteran forward Jarome Iginla. Iginla finished the regular season tied for the Bruins lead in goals and led the Bruins in playoff goals with five. According to Haggerty, the Bruins are pushing to re-sign to the 36-year-old to a contract very similar to his one-year 2013-2014 deal, which paid him $1.8 million. Price too high? David Staples of the Edmonton Journal considers the possibility of the Oilers acquiring either Nazem Kadri or Jake Gardiner from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Staples reports that the Oilers could have interest in both players to improve the team and mentions that both played under Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins with the Toronto Marlies. However, Staples believes the price for either player will be too high for the Oilers unless the team decides to make a "major effort" by offering Nail Yakupov, David Perron or their first round draft pick. =============================================================================== Seriously...Yakupov or the 3rd overall for Kadri or Gardiner? What the everloving hell is Nonis or Leafs media smoking? I had a feeling Boyle wouldn't consider the Isles. I can see Det moving on him or even the Habs if Markov isn't re-signed. Ryan Strome
That price is to high but so many on cdc think Nonis will just give Kadri away. That's ridiculous.

Kadri for a former 1st overall or the 3rd overall.....ya that's a HUGE overpayment. Yak + 2nd and 3rd for Kadri and 1st maybe. And Gardiner shouldn't even be in the same ballpark honestly. WTF are they smoking back east
elvis15
Yeah, I'd heard about the Boyle rumour yesterday. People were predicting it anyway, but then there was similar talk about Lubo and Nabby. Iginla's a foregone conclusion that they'd look to re-sign him, the question is does he want to. And that's a terrible play for the Oilers if that's what they're thinking. All they need is more youth who don't bring a better team dynamic to their existing young players on the roster. They could do so much better with those assets. Rounoush
Kadri > Yakupov. 3rd > Gardiner Not that bad of a trade Yakupov hasn't had a great opportunity to flourish yet. There is still lots of untapped potential, therefore I would take Yakupov over Kadri.

He's overrated and sucks and has no forecheck. Let the bust go to Russia. That 3rd overall is enticing and I'd deal Kadri for that pick any day of the week but that wouldnt be enough. He's a leaf so obviously everyone makes him out to be trash. I'd honestly trade Kesler straight up for him. In fact I'd probably add to him to get Kadri

Reminds me of last fall when they were booking their parade after 10 games.Kadri is no where near even Kane light. Sat by Carlyle duing a playoff race and then sat again by Team Canada, does that tell you anything?
rawkdrummer
Let's try to keep this all in one place shall we. =============================================================================== Yeah, like that's going to happen. I'd think for the 30 goals + another 5 in the playoffs that he scored this year he could do better than that.

DeltaSwede
I have the feeling that Dan Boyle will go to Tampa Bay. They are in need of veteran leadership especially now that St Louis is gone and who knows if Callahan will stay or not. They also need a puck moving defensemen so Boyle fits the bill. He is also familiar with Florida having played there at the start of his career. Moves his family to a nice and warm place to live where he has lived previously as well. Perfect fit really.
