With the news of Rene Bourque and Ryan Malone both being sent to the minors, and both being ex Rangers, the New York Rangers have made a mandatory team meeting scheduled once a month to reflect on personal finances and the big picture of a long life vs a relatively short NHL career. Players are being reminded that they will not always earn the salaries they currently enjoy...some may go up. Some down, but none will last forever.

Rumour Mill

small.png - With Cam Ward officially on the trade market, the goaltender has picked up his play. The B's have had interest in the former Conn Smythe winner, but are looking for the right fit.
small.png - Thought to be on the trade market earlier this season, the Flames seem to have backed off on their intentions to deal Brian Elliott.
small.png - Still on the goaltending market, sources claim the Avs want to upgrade on Jonathan Bernier and have been looking at options, though two separate deals have fallen apart recently.
small.png - A slow start for the Blueshirts has management concerned and sources say trade talks have ramped up. One name that surfaced, at least before his injury: Mikael Backlund.
small.png - Frustrated that it took a mid-September offer sheet to get any contract talks going, a source revealed that defenceman Justin Faulk is unhappy with the Sens and has requested a trade.
small.png - Since coming aboard as interim GM, chuckles91 has been scarcely seen around Wells Fargo. This coupled with the teams slow start has been raising red flags amongst ownership.
small.png - A slow start for the Blues has management looking to upgrade in all positions, and it's being said that previously untouchable players may be available.
small.png - With Voynov suspended and Chara injured, the Canucks are rumored to be looking for help on defence.
small.png - The Winnipeg Jets appear to be scouring the market for an impact top 6 winger, and have made multiple inquiries on bringing in first round draft picks.
