Below is an update that is meant to recognize the performance of some of our younger players. It is not an indication of who we value more. It is merely a judge of performance thus far. While we are happy with most of our prospects' performances thus far, some have been struggling to find their games. However, struggling prospects like Matt Finn, Emil Molin, and Matia Marcantuoni have plenty of game and we are confident they can turn it around.

Our youth movement is looking promising with the likes of Tomas Hertl and Ryan Strome already producing in the NHL. These guys below could be joining them shortly.

Warning, long read:

Tampa Prospect Update:

AHL

Freddie Hamilton 17GP 5G 7A 12P - Our top scoring AHL forward is on the verge of getting another stint with the struggling San Jose Sharks

Pontus Aberg 14GP 6G 3A 9P - First season in North America showing promising offensive numbers for the Nashville minor affiliate

Conor Allen 15GP 3G 6A 9P - One of two Tampa D prospects who had a taste of the NHL. Filled in well for the injured Dan Boyle. Should see more opportunities should other Rangers D struggle. AV loves this kid, as do we.

Ville Pokka 14GP 4G 3A 7P - Will be a solid 2-way defenseman in the NHL. We have no problem waiting for him while he adapts to the North American game in a deep Blackhawks system. That being said, we are pleased with his play thus far.

Chris Tierney 7GP 1G 5A 6P - Made the jump from Junior captain to the Sharks opening day roster, seeing more quality ice time in the minors. Will be back in the NHL sooner rather than later.

Junior

Tyler Bertuzzi 23GP 13G 20A 33P - A heart-and-soul type tough guy that is showing good offensive number. Recently put up a 7 point game vs the London Knights setting a club record. Not going to be rushed in the Red Wings system.

Madison Bowey 24GP 8G 22A 30P - Unbelievable defenseman from an unbelievable system. A likely candidate for Team Canada, he will have Caps fans and CDCGML Lightning fans salivating as he gets to showcase his talents on the world stage.

Justin Bailey 22GP 14G 15A 29P - Showing more consistency offensively and continuing to improve. Interesting project forward we have here in Bailey, and we hope to be reaping the benefits as he joins the Buffalo Sabres youth movement.

NCAA

Colton Parayko 12GP 3G 6A 9P - Our newest prospect comes at a hulking 6'4" and watch out! He is developing his offensive game.

Jordan Schmaltz 13GP 1G 7A 8P - Showing more consistency, leadership, and maturity, Jordan has been improving every year after a rough start in North Dakota. Drafted in the same year as Colton, Tampa is hoping the St Louis College defencemen work out

Honourable Mentions:

Daniil Tarasov 16GP 3G 7A 10P

Cameron Schilling 19GP 1G 6A 7P
