The Toronto Maple Leafs would like to thank Darren Helm, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Radek Faksa, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc. Colin Fraser and Luke Lockhart for their contributions to our franchise.

We'd also like to thank Ottawa GM winterhawks for the patient professionalism it takes to negotiate such a complicated deal.

We'd like to welcome the talented young players who have just joined our franchise - Nick Shore, Austin Watson, Calvin Pickard, Oscar LIndberg and Adam Tambellini. With the additions of these young, developing players we feel we have added a measure of balance and depth to our minors system (particularly at the forward positions) - a number of whom are approaching NHL readiness.

Darren Helm is an outstanding two way center, still in the prime of his career and was a difficult player to let go of. Certainly one of my personal favorite players - the TML wish him well with Ottawa. We felt that the influx of talented young centers to our franchise - Jenner, Eakin, Namestnikov, Graovac and now Shore, Watson and Lindberg, allowed us to make this move and create a spot for these young players to compete for.

Good evening everyone here is your latest from the Inside!

- A lot of talk around the league about centers right now and to kick things off we're going to Colorado. The Aves have two great pivots in Malkin and Monahan leading there top lines and this has started talk that it's going to be difficult to find a roster spot for highly touted rookie Sam Bennett. When questioned GM Boxing Hobo said that for the right price anything can happen.

- Staying in Denver I also heard that the Aves are looking to bolster there back end as well and that Jonathan Bernier plus could be had in a Goalie swap.

- Back at center ice and up to Edmonton this time. The Oilers were involved in a big trade earlier this week to bring in Pekka Rinne and they aren't done yet. I'm hearing that number one center Tyler Bozak is on the block! I have also heard Carl Hagelin and Fedor Tyutin come up in talks as being movable assets.

- With the emergence of Mathieu Perreault as a second line center the Boston Bruins find themselves with a log jam at center. I have heard at least two teams have made offers for Perreault however GM greensman is taking his time to make the right decision.

- Down to the Island where TheMinister is looking to up his odds in the play offs. Rumor has it that Brayden Schenn and Nick Foligno could be available but it's going to take a top line winger from a western conference play off team to get talks started.

- To finish up todays post we go to the city of brotherly love. There has been much talk about moving veterans out of Philly but my sources say GM chuckles91 may not be feeling the love for the no trade and no move clauses that might get in the way. The name that comes up has the best bet to move right now is Ales Hemsky and I will keep you updated if I hear more.

That's all for now folks. I'll be keeping my ears to the ground and will be back with more in the future!
