Primal Optimist
Pending IR request, Michael Keranen will slot into the 4th line left wing. (if request does not go through, Ty McGinn will be assigned to the affiliate to make the necessary room. ) just curious if this move was allowed for IR, or if my young guy needs to go down for the week? arby18_
It's tough to lose both Dylan and Michael to waivers, but we had players coming off of the LTIR and didn't feel that is was right to leave them there just to keep some bodies around. While we failed to sneak two players who won't be playing in the playoffs down to the minors, we felt it was the right thing to do in order to keep the competitive balance intact. We wish Dylan and Michael well on their new teams.
canuck2xtreme
Being a Sunday should we start it earlier than 5? I'm easy but just wondering. I'm okay with this. I am taking the entire month of June and most of July off so I'm good any time of day. Whatever works best for you guys.
Otis
So for the Isles it's down to a 1st round vs the Panthers or the Devils. It would be a pleasure to knock either one of you gentlemen out as the underdog. Sounds fun!

oldnews
Being a Sunday should we start it earlier than 5? I'm easy but just wondering. I won't be free til about 4pm that day - but no matter when it is it probably won't suit everyone, and I'm a rookie anyway (with the least seniority) so..... fwiw, that's my two cents. I will work very hard to stay sober until AFTER the first round selection is done, after that....yeah odds are good there will be shooters and something to help watch the draft go by. exciting time of year by and far! Once the trade deadline ended, about all the Leafs had to look forward to - aside from re-signing a few key veterans (wahoo!) and watching some young guys develop - is the draft! Lots of fun homework to do.
oldnews
Great night in Victoria arenas last night. Royals take their series with PG and head on to face a stiff test in the Rockets. Magee gets his 6th goal of the series to end it in OT after having dumped a puck over into the mesh in the closing minutes of regulation, giving PG a DOG powerplay that they capitalized on to tie it and send it to extra time. Great atmosphere in the Slave-On-Foods arena last night. And accross town, Panorama takes the Hockeyville title for a year and will host the Nucks/Sharks this fall. Sweet. oldnews
I already have my draft day white board crammed with names... and I only have 2 picks I think yours are in the most interesting range (imo) - the late first and high 2nd picks are really challenging decisions - I have a couple in that range too. Lots of leeway to get a great player or whiff altogether.
theminister
I already have my draft day white board crammed with names... and I only have 2 picks I believe in doing my due diligence prior to the day in question so that I can pretty much watch it as a spectator and follow my list. That way when I over imbibe, as I am wont to do on draft day, I have less chance of screwing up. I always find that it helps me 'lubricate' any possible draft day deals. Once the ball gets rolling and we slip past the first 45 then I slide more into the gut feeling mode and swing for the fences. So far that strategy has paid off for me. I think yours are in the most interesting range (imo) - the late first and high 2nd picks are really challenging decisions - I have a couple in that range too. Lots of leeway to get a great player or whiff altogether. I've got two in that late 1st and early 2nd range so that's my hope to make hay there too. Of course, if everyone feels the same then it gets trickier…. but there always seems to be a name I'm happy got left on the table when my pick is up… regardless of where I'm slotted. I've got nothing after the Cal 2nd yet but I'm hoping to grab another couple beforehand.
theminister
With the uncertainty at the bottom of both conferences IRL it leaves many playoff rosters still up in the air… with a tonne of possible variations for every team in our league. Possible teams that could miss… Van, Cal, Win, LAK, possibly Minny out West… Bos, Det, Pitts, Ott, possibly Was out East. It's going to be scoreboard watching for everyone despite the fact that almost all of our playoff spots are all but assured. The only one I see is if Ty Webb has a crazy week and overtakes ThatMike. Lots of leeway to get a great player or whiff altogether. I remember the 2013 draft, I had a late first round pick, and the player I wanted had just gone off the board, along with my Plan B, Plan C and Plan D options. I explored trading the pick but nothing seemed worthwhile so at the last minute I took a shot on a player I hadn't expected to take (as I figured surely one of my first 4 options would be there). That draft pick was Jacob De La Rose. And it's looking pretty solid so far. I have a lot of fun with this game, but I think draft day is easily my favorite CDCGML related day of the year.
