Bombastik der Teutone
That's a lot to pay for an ageing goalie On a serious note, that's a very interesting deal. I can see benefits to both teams. its the forward backstrom you ´d have been right in the other case ...goalie backstroms role is a ??? does he have an contract in minny? another big contract for the kings though now he pay 6,5 Million at one guy instead of 7,4 million on 2 guys and he has 6 open roster spots with 11 million bucks salary left

Caboose
We had a glut of centers in Minnesota and we gathered from some free agent discussions that this has impeded our ability to sign players. We believe this has rectified the situation.
y0shi
To Ace: I hope you understand that there was nothing personal on the offer sheet for Johansen, as there was nothing personal to The Minister for my offer sheet of Hedman a couple years ago. I originally had a brief thought of offer sheeting for Johansen early last season (hence one of the few instances I've kept my slate of 6 picks). Didn't think of doing so when I acquired guys like Leino/Stafford (briefly) but when the opportunity kept sitting there for a guy like Johansen, I had to go for it. Johansen is a special player and I was fully willing/committed to give up all those picks/salary to him if you did not decide to match. We feel that with a cornerstone piece like that, it was worth it and we wish you and Johansen the best in LA.

y0shi
I ain't even mad. It worked out for both of us. Mhm, just curious, who did you end up draft/trading those picks for? This is definitely one of those trades I'd like to see how those players turned out. Knowing how you draft, and knowing how I draft, I probably would've picked way differently though

y0shi
I would love to see it too. But sometimes, following the trade train is depressing. I'd love to go back and assess every trade/draft/move I've made, but I don't think I can access the entire CDC archives
Mike Vanderhoek
I'd love to go back and assess every trade/draft/move I've made, but I don't think I can access the entire CDC archives I just know that I have had pretty much every player in New Jersey at one point in time. This is definitely one of those trades I'd like to see how those players turned out. Knowing how you draft, and knowing how I draft, I probably would've picked way differently though 2013 1st - Rasmus Ristolainen 2013 2nd - Chris Bigras 2013 3rd - traded along with Jeremy Morin for Anton Stralman (later traded for FC - 3rd) 2014 1st - Alex Tuch 2014 2nd - traded along with 18th overall & 46th overall for 7th overall (Jake Virtanen) - Buffalo took Ryan Donato 2014 3rd - traded along with Daniil Zharkov for Matt Cullen But, anyway you look at it, the Isles won a Cup the year after letting him walk. Edit: Just looking at it now, I'm not sure I ever received my FC from LA in the Stralman trade.

Primal Optimist
I would love to see it too. But sometimes, following the trade train is depressing. sometimes it is like the stock market..you follow along good moves, good moves, slight sidegrade, good moves, downgrade, didn't work, missed it completely...stock is plunging...good move...good trade, great trade, bad trade, lost him to Free Agency..... seriously like watching the stocks
