Thanks for all the well wishes guys, Jill and Kira are both doing great.

Everything went, well.. okay, it was pretty much a gong show until she was born... and baby scared the hell out of me.

Kira's heart rate dropped as she was being born. This is totally normal, as long as it doesn't drop too low for too long. It went a little lower than they wanted, and as she was coming out, I hear the doctor (Dr. Upton, for those in the Vernon area) say to one of the nurses that her umbilical cord had wrapped around her neck. Time pretty much stopped for me from that point until I heard her crying. Probably only about 10-20 seconds, but it felt like forever.

She is (so far) a perfect angel. For her first night at home, she slept curled up on my shoulder without a peep from 3am to about 8:30am, when I was woken up by Jill and her mom, not baby.

Will get a pic of her up when I get them off the camera.

Have had a lot of extreme , emotional full on moments in my life, the birth of my son lachlan tops them all , and it just gets better ....before the teen-age angst , already dreading the teen-age angst.

Ya gotta start somewhere !

Just a heads up for those of you that do use MSN Messenger and do not currently have me as a contact. Please add me at:

da.washington_caps@hotmail.com

Thanks guys!

Being an older person who only uses computers to access information and for hockey purposes,i am wondering why are things like MSN messenger and trillian better than the PM system on this board for keeping in contact with my fellow GM's/

Conversation has way more flow on MSN. Way easier to communicate. I highly recommend it :)

It is also to your advantage to use MSN/Skype/Trillian to contact GM's as some deals come together real quick. I've had deals come together within 5 minutes of IM'ing and getting PM's 5 mins later.

Trillian/MSN are to the PM system what the telephone is to regular mail, or what texting is to e-mail.

Both systems can accomplish what you're going for, but Trillian/MSN is a real time conversation.

Downside is that there are no timestamped discussions and it's not official. Off the record sort of stuff. I use Trillian or even text messages to touch base with some guys, chat a bit, kick some ideas around, but the heavy lifting of most contract discussions or trade talks is done via PM. It's a tool to assist you, but definitely not a replacement for PMs.

Thanks for all the replies .

Sonia was a analyst/ programmer for years , she is literally a genius with computers , her boss used that word in an open e-mail in connection with her problem sovling abilities.

Any way with our busy lives she does all the computin and i have let her set up everything , stupidly i have not paid attention and learnt how to do these things myself.

I see that some are on trillian and some are on MSN , should install and learn to use both of these ?
