Canada gets exhibition victory over Toronto CIS Selects

Robby Fabbri scored twice and Jake Virtanen had three assists in Canada's 10-3 victory over the Toronto CIS Selects on Saturday night.

Forwards Brayden Point and Michael Dal Colle, and defenceman Dillon Heatherington each had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Goaltender Zach Fucale, who figures to be Canada's starter once the tournament gets underway, stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced.

Scratched for Saturday's exhibition game were forwards Anthony Duclair, Max Domi, Nic Petan, Sam Reinhart and the injured Connor McDavid.

Defencemen Josh Morrissey, Darnell Nurse and Shea Theodore also sat out Saturday's action.

The Toronto CIS Selects are players made up of Ryerson, York and University of Toronto all-stars.

Canada faces the same Toronto CIS Selects team on Sunday afternoon, with the first cuts expected to follow.
