Jake looks like he is not skating with the puck very well. And that could just translate to confidence!

With the insane schedule and the three 6 game road trips in the first half of the season,,Fatigue is the reason everyone isn't at their best, not just Jake

Good god that is a poor comparison. Virtanen hits hard and raymond fell down if the air conditioning in the arena came on.  Haha nice try.

Did I ever say Raymond falling down reminds me of Virtanen? I literally explained my reason and people still compare other things. :frantic:

Why stop there?  Add on fans of other teams, people that don't watch hockey, maybe run a survey in China.  There must be a few more out there.

Seriously though, StarGirl, the only similarity between Raymond and Virtanen is that they are fast skaters.  That's it.

How can we add people who don't even know them? I was only talking about people who don't use the internet or go to this forum and choose not to say it who still at least knew them. :picard:  I just explained the only reason why he reminds me of him and being "reminded" of someone else isn't something I chose on purpose or anything. It's not even an opinion either. Never have I once said that Virtanen and Raymond are 100% the same type of Hockey player.

how about speeding down the wing, going behind the net and out the other side, followed by a weak shot or giva-away?

I 100 % agree with this statement and have been called a complainer for saying such. But its the truth about the Canucks stale mate. I expect play-offs considering they are only a couple points out and have played their worst part of the yearly schedule! Be no excuses if they don't pick it up with the easier Jan ,Feb and March!

Exactly.

What a weak comparison....totally opposite types of players.

Maybe they have the same hair color?

Last night would have been a good game to see Jake play “unhinged”..  but for the sake of a win against the #4 pp in the League,.   I can wait.

Keep up the great work Jake.

I think he's probably best playing 13-14 minutes a game on the third line and getting good matchups against bottom pairing defencemen. Struggled a bit playing with Bo.

Why are you bringing Connor McDavid into the discussion?

Stop going five hole all the time Jake and just roof it!

It's easy to say after the fact, but that partial breakaway at the end of regulation was so good and he just needed to get the puck over the pad. Shots along the ice are few and far between with the quality of goalies in the NHL.

Just curious...

Green doesn’t seem to have tried putting Virtanen on LW with Pettersson. He seems to have the physical attributes and skill set to be able to fill this role.

Why not?

Surely he could learn some truculence and be shown how to fight if required.

I feel this kind of role may be the best path for Virt’s career.

Only 4 Canuck players have played all 50 games - Granlund, Horvat, Eriksson, and Virtanen

Guess its down to three now for next game.

Interesting that Virty was an extra...fighting through injury or message sending by Green?
