I did play thank you and I'm not the only one that has called them sisters heck so has nhlers. So that comment doesn't hold much water.

Are you sure you want to appeal to authority using Dave Bolland? Here is a leaked MRI of his brain...

His zone entries have been wayyyh more effective.  Not taking the useless perimeter shots every time he gains the line, now he’s holding the puck and making things happen one way or another.

What i notice the last 15 games or so is that he is fully engaged the whole game. It seemed previously he would have a great 10 minutes or so and then you wouldn't notice him, now  we are seeing him start to finish.

yeah dream on... i am lucky enough to go to a golf tourney every summer hosted by a former two time selke winner and cup winner and a current nhl'r and both say Henrik was one of the hardest guys to play against, right up there with Datsyuk. Also say he is a super classy and funny guy as well. The other thing is that all guys who play hockey have a mutual respect for each other, it's a fraternity... play hard and hate on the ice, once the games over they are friends again. CHL, AHL or NHL. Your time in bantam hockey doesn't qualify.

Maybe if they showed more hate I would have more respect for them.....

ummmm good for you and respect for each other , like sleep with players wives? Or you talking about what happens on the road stays on the road type of respect?

they all share a common love of the game and that's about it.

You can say what you want but I still think their sisters and that's never going to change.

I believe I agree with you on most of your posts but people calling the Sedins sisters is laughable. They are both hall of famers who got there with their skill and scoring.

The previous Canucks GM did a huge disservice to them both by never finding the tough nosed guys to play with them and bash in the faces of little rats (marchand) they played against that took liberties.

And seguin and benn could not even hold the Sedins jock straps if you look at their careers as a whole.

I used to really love Kesler as a player.  And then his real life was brought up in the media on how he screwed over his best buddies. The guy is a dbag. Class A dbag.

Please do not reference Kesler and Burrows together in a sentence. Burrows is a quality human being and was a grade A pain in the arse NHL player. Kesler was a good NHL player but a dbag human.

What does hold water though Rowdy, is that both 33 and 22 were both given Ted Lindsay Awards voted by the players themselves, as the best players in the league

The reason i don't like Nylander is because i have to listen to people complain about Virtanen not being as good. One guy in thread even likened him to Gretzky, then says "i'm not comparing him to Gretzky" Take a hike with that crap, the guys trying to convince us that Nylanders so much better that he's Gretzky compared to Virtanen. These people don't even follow Nylander closely, just watch some leaf highlights and stat lines , then come on here with their agenda. Nylander is a one dimensional, non playoff contributor, pink toque wearing skill forward that has Matthews, Marner, Tavares and the rest of them to spoon feed him points. he gets way more ice time and PP time than Virtanen. You want me to lay off Nylander? Quit denigrating Virtanen with your transparent Jim Benning hate and quit using Virtanen as a resource to do this. If you think Nylander is like Gretzky compared to Virtanen you're clueless. Virtanen hits, goes to the dirty areas, is big, skates fast, plays the game hard and has a wicked shot. He was even getting under Lucic's skin last game and didn't back down. It took him longer to adjust to the NHL. If you'd rather have Nylander and his $7 million dollar cap hit because you look at his stat line , you are clueless.

Bud, i agree with you about Virtanen being an under rated player but you need to stop with this Sedin Sisters crap, it's not the UFC.  They did more for this team and city than any other players other than maybe Pat Quinn, Linden, Smyl, Rota or Gradin. No one will touch their team scoring records for many years. Do you really think ex and current NHL players disrespect the Sedins the way you are? The only ones that did were jealous players that were tired of losing to them and Tyler Seguin who is a self admitted homo sexual. Watch this video, do you really think Bertuzzi, Burke and the others are just saying this for no reason? Burke absolutely hates soft players, listen to what he says here.

One big change compared to him in the past is he is keeping his head up quite often . This is enabling him to make better decisions , good passes etc. A good sign of confidence , loved him taking that bullet slapper on the powerplay catching iron vs the flames. He is feeling it , hope he keeps improving .

One other thing that's really changed Jake's game is having guys like Miller, Pearson, and Rousell on the team. I feel he's probably learning more from them, than the coach.  The coach has the system, but Jake now plays a more controlled game, and can slow the game down and control the puck after the zone entry. Compared to the last few years, he would just go north south and either shoot the puck and lose it, or just plain try to beat a guy. He now plays a more complete game, and seems to understand his role and plays well defensively (his takeaways are unbelievable).  Encouragement from good team mates, that show how it's done in game situations, is essential for him.  I think he's come a long ways IMO.  Though consistent line mates with Gaudette has been great, as well.  And Green has finally let him have more deserved ice time.  I'd be cool to see him out score Boeser in goals. :)

That could have changed the way I view them but to me , but the Sedins weren't my cup of tea and was never a fan of them.

Thats not fair look at the teams around the Sedins over the years and also kesler and lo were bigger reasons why we went to the final.

Kes isn't the only player to do something like that but I separate the player from the person, but I get that , I'll try to remember not to out those two together ha.

I'm not saying they arnt skilled never said that I called them sisters for the way they carried themselves on the ice, they were skating around punching bags in the playoffs......Hawks rings any bells or kings.....

Jealous of losing to the Sedins? We never won a cup so that doesn't matter.

But i watched your video for countless time now , I've seen it and I will never question what they did off the ice or their love for the game but diving and being a human punching bag year in and year out , no sorry. That's how I view it but I'll lay off that type of talk though.

Who here cares whether you attack Nylander/Ehlers? Its low hanging fruit at this point. Its like all the "McDavid is overrated and one-dimensional" posts in the last GDT with the Oilers. The more pejoratives fans use to describe rival players the more insecure you appear. Calling a player "one dimensional, non playoff contributor, pink toque wearing skill forward", just reeks of insecurity and bitterness, which isn't a great look. If you can't defend Virtanen without attacking other players, then its likely you don't really have a leg to stand upon. The same go for the posters who are calling the Sedins "sisters", I struggle to remember what our current stars have accomplished to be considered tougher than the Sedins. But I digress.

Also Nylander wasn't likened to Gretzky, the poster made a point not to let emotions cloud ones judgement. Seems like great advice for quite a few in this thread.

Difference between a fan and a homer. Likening a canuck is one thing. Claiming one is better than Gretzky is another. Not that nylander is the great one. Just trying to put things in context here.

I was one of those people in 2014 who felt that taking Virtanen at #6 was a mistake. He seemed to take forever to develop, and even if he was physically ready, his brain wasn't. I wondered if he'd ever be a good NHLer. But time reveals all. Jake looks like he's turning into a really good player who can be counted on to score a big goal or lay out a big hit. He's going to the net more, he's making smart plays, good passes, in the right position, etc. It's almost as if a light switch went on in his head this season. He's not a dumb player by any means, but just needed time to figure thngs out. Looks like he's doing that. I believe the Canucks traded Neely at around the same age, and then look what Neely did. Jake might be following a similar path, and he's just now starting to flourish. Jake will be a very important player in the playoffs. So glad they were patient and didn't give up on him.

Patience is proving to be the virtue of this young man, and rightfully so.  In my opinion his ceiling, full potential, and consistency will ripple the surface next season.  Long term, I really do think he will become a better player for us than Mathew Tchuck, whose penalty takes, hamper a Teams game plan and pace.  Jake has a clear mind, and can stay undistracted.. where MT can not.

I would not be surprised to see Jake throw down with MT by the end of the season, and regardless of the outcome, be an inspiring confident move by him if he does...   if he dosent, . Then I can patiently wait for next season for it to happen.

Best Wishes in the New Year Jake!

Your becoming more the player, we as fans, have sorely missed since Bert 44... don’t be to shy to grab that number next season, it might look pretty good on you.
