Alf, I think chastised him is a lil harsh of a a word for what was said :)

Green was asked about Jake, and responded  honestly

He stated he didn't show up in the condition that they were both having for him

I am ok with that

NHL players get paid big money to be professionals

Jake was not taking his serious enough to not be in the best shape he could be

I agree with what you said that he wasn't chasitsed as he didn't even say he was out of shape. All he said was he and Virt had goals and that Virt didn't meet some. So I don't know how everyone is jumping on Jake and said he was like SUPER OUT OF SHAPE.

Jake has more goals than supposedly our top sniper "Boeser", and so do 4 other forwards have more goals than Boeser.  I wonder if Boeser was more injured than he showed, and hid it from the team.  Then when his production and confidence really dropped they called him on it.   I'm glad we only signed him for a 2 year deal, this will look more appealing to other teams looking to trade for him.

Not to be an ass, but I think it is a three year deal (BB6) with a 7.5 mil in the final year.

Yup.  Bess’s Qualifying offer fir his next contract is at least 9 million.  Not really a very smart deal by JB.  Our window for winning is going to close before it opens.

Maybe we trade him for a  young defencemen (same stage as our prospects are at now), and some of our forward prospects are ready to replace him

Could JB believe Hoglander is ready to play top six minutes next season?  Could it be Kole Lind he has in mind?

you realize Bess has been injured for a bit now, of course players are going to pass him , we  signed him to a 3 year deal, nobody is going to be stale while he is injured. Benning wanted another top six forward and hopefully we got one in Toffoli, . it will be awesome when Bess comes back for the playoffs. the top six will be set.

Sometimes your posts make no sense.  And this is one of them...

I have been right on a lot of moves by reading the tea leaves (like Hodgson, Kesler, Bonino/Sutter trade, etc)... and I am starting to feel pretty sure that Jake is going to get traded in the offseason.

Benning has talked a few times about having to make choices on our players this summer due to cap reasons and how he is hoping to recoup a 1st or other picks.

The odd man out to me is Virtanen.  He is worth a decent return, isn’t good enough to be in our top 6, and won’t be a good value on the 3rd or 4th line.

I think if we re-sign Toffoli, one of Boeser/Virtanen are eventually gone for a D personally.

Yep, exactly... I am just betting on it being Virtanen.  He will be at peak value after this season.

Both bring back a very big haul as well as shedding cap... that one move can relieve a lot of pressure and we have the depth to still manage.

Virtanen shotguns his way into 93rd in all-time canuck scoring.  Passes Pyatt as an interesting comparable.

92.  Lars Molin LW 172 33 65 98
93.  Jake Virtanen RW 272 50 44 94
94.  Christian Ehrhoff D 159 28 66 94
95.  Taylor Pyatt LW 224 49 44 93

Boeser gets paid $7.5 Million in salary in the final year.  Will have to qualify based on that.  Not a great structure for the Canucks.  May make him un-signable unless he agrees to less.

Toffoli is a pending UFA (not RFA), so there's no qualification necessary. He simply becomes a free agent on July 1 if he's not re-signed.

Anyone remember what number Lars Molin was?
