messier's_elbow
He reminds me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMYMiDfWXH4 Yeah they are really similar except Jake has a better shot.
AK_19
He really is identical to David Booth pre-concussion which should be considered a success if he becomes like him.
AK_19
In terms of style/athletic talent, maybe there are similarities. But in terms of mental make up, Virtanen loves the physical side of the game and thrives on it. His internal motor is way better then Booth's motor and Virtanen actually uses what he has in the tool box. If you're looking for a comparison, think more in line with Dustin Brown or Ryan Callahan with a better shot. The internal motor disappeared post-concussion. Canucks1219
He really is identical to David Booth pre-concussion which should be considered a success if he becomes like him. Virtanen has a far superior shot and plays, in Benning's words, a "meaner" game. They both can skate, hit, and drive the net so they're quite similar in that respect. But I don't think Virtanen is necessarily some carbon copy of Booth. At full potential (which is asking a lot...), Virtanen provides much more than Booth has. GMJB
I've seen people say Virtanen is better at LW I've seen others say he is better at RW so I'm a bit confused lol. Which position is he better at?
baumerman77
Virtanen compares to Ovechikn for me (not talent but style). Both are fast and hard hitting. Both have questionable defense (at least Virtanen has time to improve). Both are shoot first, shoot second, pass third guys. I would love to see Virtanen play with the Sedins in a few years. asian player
How accurate is his shot? He can obviously rip it but can he become a sniper where he can score from anywhere on the ice?
N4ZZY
hopefully virtanen lives up to his potential. that would be awesome for the 'nucks.
N4ZZY
How accurate is his shot? He can obviously rip it but can he become a sniper where he can score from anywhere on the ice? well. that's the question isn't it? if his hockey IQ improves - he becomes the complete player. finding linemates, and scoring as well as being physical in his play. what a beast of a player he would be. here's to hoping! Can't see the Nucks ever allowing a player to become as defensively inept as Ovi. Ovi's superstar status interfered with his overall development. Gstank29
http://www.extraskater.com/chl/players?age=17&sort=goals_ev for people hating on virtanen... Also look at he's average ice time per 60 mins. It's not even on the first page when you sort it
SamJamIam
How accurate is his shot? He can obviously rip it but can he become a sniper where he can score from anywhere on the ice? He had 45 goals. Somehow I doubt accuracy is an issue.

Gaudette Celly
32% 17.8 x 1.46 = 2646%...fwiw If Virtanen gets decent linemates and 20+ minutes this season (should be 25+), he clears 50 goals and 80 points easily.
