It only took 21 games to score a goal in the AHL.

Hopefully he starts building up some confidence. I really want to see him dominate in Utica - I think he needs about 80 more AHL games under his belt to properly develop.

That looked like the Jake from last year more. Chipping the puck by the D and skating onto it.

He just needs confidence and his game will come around. Green will get him on track. A full year in the A will do wonders for his game. More practise and less travel time too.

For everyone who missed the goal, nice shot.

There was another reply from behind the Albany net that they showed on AHL Live that they should have included in the highlight. You can't see it above but just before shooting Jake freezes the goalie and dman with a little head fake like he was going to pass instead of shoot. A very high end play.

Why are you dinosaurs comparing today's NHL to 10 years ago... Today's top prospects make an impact almost immediately after draft year. And 30 year old players are already considered to be in decline.

These are statistical variances rather than a trend.  There are a few exceptional cases of players contributing as teenagers out there right now like Ekblad, McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, Marner, etc who are the product of a couple of years in a row of very good drafts.  On average, we're going to see a regression to the mean.  Most young players don't contribute significantly and consistently until 22 or 23.  It's the way it always has been.

Players have to mature both physically and mentally.  Now, stars like McDavid are under the spot light and are getting interviews (and are coached how) from age 15.  This is new and is helping them deal with things at a younger age.  Training methods may be better but players are still skinny and light when they are drafted.

And these young players almost always struggle with the defensive nuances of the game.  Sure they might put up points, but defensively they are a liability.

I'm glad someone noticed lol. Yeah no I don't think we've had an immediate impact player who we've drafted. At least not in the last 2 decades... The Sedins were slowly given more minutes as they got more experience. Similar to what they've done with Baertschi and Horvat.

Jake is a humble guy. But his poor play has caused the media and bandwagon fans to start rumours. I do believe he will take some great steps in the next year or two.

Unless you have some sort of insider info, this is just as baseless as saying that aliens have infiltrated the White House. Thus, you can't call people who say the opposite bandwagoners (do you even know what that means?). Ask the staff at the Roxy what they think of Jake and you'll get a more accurate description. We don't live in large cities like Toronto, NY, or LA. It doesn't take much investigative work to know that the Sedins are role model citizens, Bo is actually a pretty cool guy and Jake has a lot of growing up to do. Sugar coating this won't make him any less of a douchebag.

What he does in his personal life is none of our business. But based on watching every interview he's had since being drafted, he says all the right things and does have the team's best interest at heart. Nice Roxy story; but at this point, that's all hearsay. The information you received from them was at best to a 3rd degree, its credibility is extremely low. Therefore making it just as unsubstantial as your alien reference. Just because you heard a couple things from some random bartenders/servers, doesn't mean he's a douchebag.

To truly find out if someone is a douchebag, you need to determine that person's chill-to-pull ratio. If his chill ratio is significantly higher, he is all good.
