LMAO Im sure they were so jealous of jakes 4th line nhl minutes, and would rather lose the biggest tournament of their lives than pass him the puck. You're right that makes complete sense. His penalties called agianst him were probably because the refs were jealose too. LMAO

Watch the games again, you will see how many times Jake is open for the pass, and has the best opportunity to score, only to be snubbed.. clear evidence. Penalties come from frustration,. But I'm sure you get that. ..And Jake's Character Issues?Damn, your heart must have broke when you saw a picture of him with Justin Bieber. .. your making more sense with every line you write. #Adolecent Edited January 28, 2017 by SilentSam
Popular Post Darius
Listening to the Comets vs Penguins game....Comets down 3-1 in the third, good news is that announcer is saying Jake is having a very strong game. Back checking, forechecking, getting shots. Attacking with speed....he ran over Tom Kostopoulos...sounds like one of his best games in the past weeks....

All im saying is its not because of jealousy that he had a bad turnanent. Thats the stupidest excuse ive ever heard. Have you played on team before? I bet that didn't cross the players mind once in the tournament. I recall a few time where jake was open but theyre just kids not henrik sedin with great vision. Darius
Virtanen had a great game tonight. Dont give up on this kid. Forget about his draft position. He is a Canuck asset and could be a very valuable one too. If he can use his speed and heavy forecheck to cause turn overs and wear down d men, that alone is a valuable asset. I still think we can see 20 goal years from this kid. Look at Boston and LA: they won cups with big fore checking wingers that could wear down the opposition and cause havoc in the corners and in front of the net. It takes all types of ingredients and he brings a lot of valuable assets to the table. He doesnt have to score 40 goals.

DeNiro
Awesome to hear he had a great game. The problem has never been that he can't play this way, it's been that he hasn't played this way consistently. Lets hope he can follow this up with another great performance and start moving in the right direction.

The 2 weeks after world juniors. He's going to have to find a way to be constantly motivated. I feel it's his training and diet that is bringing him down. Hopefully he learns that he not 16 anymore and has to eat and train like a pro. Cant expect to compete 20lbs over weight

It exists at that level of Junior,. If you show well, your ranking goes up. Why would they give the puck to Jake? He had already made it,. Why would an undrafted player waste an opportunity to make themselves look better than him? Selfishness and Jealousy. You just stated yourself that you recognize a few times where Jake was open in that tournament, and not used.. "kids, not great vision". Systems have you looking for a player to "outlay" to, always.. in every situation. if you played, you know this, .. and if your a "kid" or "teenager", or have ever been one.. you know competition and jealousy. it exists. Hats off to TG for creating strong relationships with his players and gaining their common respect through trust.. hopeful to see the payback 10 fold if he gets behind the Canucks bench in the (near) future. With his speed he should be able to consistently force turnovers like that. It's just the willingness to do it that he has to keep working on. Salmonberries
I see that Benning being at the game tonigfht seems to have had a motivating affect on Virtanen. Great news, exactly what we need to see. I hope he has another one tomorrow.

Popular Post hobart16
Holy cow who was that tonight! Fantastic game for Jake. Back checking (he picked the D pocket 3 times from behind), forechecking, carrying the puck. He just put his shoulder down and drove the net ala Horvat and the Pens had no answer. Their goalie had to come up big. He didn't settle for long shots from the dot, and when he needed to he mucked around in front of the net too. In the third period (and maybe part of second) Travis double shifted Jake, playing him with Bancks, Hamilton, and then two lines later with Kunyk and Pelletier. Zalewski didn't play much in the third period. Jakes conditioning is WAY up. He didn't drop off at all even with all the extra ice time and Travis had him out there for the last two minutes, and he has been playing on top PP. Another few weeks like this and he is headed straight back to Vancouver. Super encouraging for Virtanen fans. I think Travis is going to ride him now and put him out there for all the pressure shifts. I would bet a lot that in another few weeks with Travis' confidence in him, Jake is going to be flying as Comets overall are playing much better. Hopefully Labate can get back soon and when Hutton and Hansen come back we will probably see Larsen/Biega and Gaunce/Megna/Boucher? Adding three more quality pieces will give Jake some more help. Jake needs a little better care with his passing as he often just throws it too quickly into a crowd and hopes, but everything else tonight was NHL level all the way. That is the good thing about some time in the A. He can get a little better sense of when he can hold the puck and when he needs to just move it. He still isn't quite there in terms of controlling the puck, but skating wise he looked like a man among boys and the WBS team is very good. It was a very high paced, quality game. Both teams hit the pipe and their goalies had to come up big repeatedly. One of the best i've ever seen at the Aud. The Penguins Rowney won 5 out of 6 face-offs in the last 2 minutes after repeated icing to stave off any serious attempts on net. Hating on a player, no longer here... a thinly veiled compliment with underlying sentiments of detraction towards a current prospect...what are you trying to achieve with this post? I wish all of the haters for haters sake would just **** off already...This thread is a perfect example of why this team's fanbase is hated throughout the league. There is way too much attention being put on a 20 year old prospect that needs to simmer in the minors... Find a new hobby
