Ilya Mikheyev
McCann looking like one of the higher level players (along with Gaunce, Virtanen, Subban) on the Canucks. Best scoring chance of the period. Looks fast, both in decision making and in terms of skating.
Derp...
Hands are very good, right behind Shinkaruk in my opinion.

Ilya Mikheyev
McCann looking as good as any Canuck in the neutral and offensive zones. Scored the team's only goal. Knows how to be open, beauty of an accurate shot on the goal. Again, looks quick.

LeanBeef
Obviously not the same type of player but McCann and Raymond have very similar skating stances and strides. Was getting deja vu's watching McCann skate out there

Rush17
Love what I have seen. McCann has shown a lot of creativity. After watching him play I think even I have under estimated his skills. Love what hes displayed hope to see more. Wouldnt be surprised if he stuck around for a while. I know this is lesser competition then the nhl but McCann may not be far off of Vey in the short term if his game can translate over. Would love to see him in some regular season games. I think we need to clear some vets to make room for guys like McCann/Virtanen. Virt looks ready for bottom 6.

I think McCann will head back to junior for another year, probably one of the last cuts at camp. I loved his play yesterday, and I agree that he's close, but I don't think we're going to add to much youth at once and Virtanen seems to have the inside track this year. Add the fact that we have players like Gaunce and Shinkaruk lined up for call-ups, I just don't see him fitting yet.

One more year in junior, and at least a good portion of one in Utica and he'll likely be ready for a bottom 6 role to start. He could probably play in Utica this year if he was aloud. MoneypuckOverlord
wanted this guy with our at the team, looking like a early teens pick back in 2014. was very happy, then he was able to fall to 24 and get picked up by us. He's a solid player, defensively its there too. He's a hard back checker. apparently he was bo horvat of the 2014 draft, 200 foot player. Live his deadly snipe shot too. Tre Mac
And people laugh when I say McCann and Horvat could be our 1b and 2a centres in the future... 1b and 2a is something to laugh at. There's only room for 4 centers not 8. Just say 1 and 2. Glad he's got the cobwebs out of his head after that silly and basically pointless(pun) summer evaluation camp. He looks like Mike Babcocks estranged son so he must be good.
Down by the River
Makes some 'real good' passes on his backhand (not just his fancy no-looker to Gaunce in the first game).
FlyLow_
Looks like he had a great summer, much stronger. Still needs to bulk up some, next year he's a lock for the Canucks IMO.

The b and a generally denote the quality of their ceiling and have nothing to do with having 8 centres. I don't think either of them will be elite first line centres. They'll merely be good /average in that regard, hence the 1b. I think both have it in them to be elite second line centres though, hence the 2a. My personal opinion is that McCann has more natural offensive instincts (shot, passing, puck distribution) and skills compared to Horvat and is more likely to be the 1b centre of the two when developed but we shall see. Either way, they're likely our 1st and 2nd line centres once Hank retirees.
