I like the idea of letting Myers be unprotected

He is a good soldier, but I think there will be other options not far of, which will be available

Case in point, Hamonic, who I think we should re-sign

I think we sign Tryamkin and go from there

Let Benn go or trade him,

then if Myers does not get picked, you live with those 4

Of which Tryamkin can move back and forth, as can Schmidt

Then at the Draft, we expose Myers and Holtby

hoping Seattle takes 1, preferably Myers

With a new economy developing due to the Pandemic, more and more of these tweener type or high cap valued underperforming players will become available.  It would be interesting to see what kind of contracts the Free Agents will be getting this offseason (ie: Taylor Hall)...

The Vancouver Radio guys Interviewing are horrible.....they bring nothing to the interview but bad vibes.

In Diamonds last Sportsnet radio interview (which was a month back) he said Tryamkin wants to play in the NHL next season but Diamond said they won’t wait long for Canucks to get the contract talks going. IMO If Canucks don’t call quickly Diamond will look for other options other then the Canucks.

Last off-season Jimbo and Canucks manage didn’t have their cell phones charged as they talked to nobody. Diamond won’t put up with that and plus the KHL training camp opens a lot sooner then the NHL.

Also as note ....NHL has  signed the ESPN. I’m saying this cause now Jimbo has more cap security for the future....which was Jimbos excuse last off-season.  So either Jimbo gets it done quickly cuz Tryamkin is in the Canucks plans or He not in the Canucks plans and Jimbo lollygags waisting everyone’s time and loses Tryamkin.

As far as I’m aware Tryamkin is not able to be picked up in the expansion draft. He doesn’t have enough games played to qualify.

so look for may-June signing. Or no Canuck signing

sportnet 650 is horrible. Vancouver needs better then theses radio soulless bad vibe clowns.

They’re hormonal kids Harry, puberty isn’t a word they can pronounce yet, let alone ask an intelligent question about it.

Rumour was Diamond and Benning are going to talk this month to get the ball rolling, I beleive @aGENT mentioned that we could sign him before this Expansion for next season and he would not be eligible for the Expansion Draft because he did not play this season.

read an article the other day wondering why sports talk radio is dying ...  well given this day and age of information at our fingertips, is it any wonder that more fans know more about their favourite sport than talk show hosts.. ?  You’d think they would stop with the bs and get to the sources.

Let me guess, you listened to all the clowns on 1040 before they shut down?  That would explain your view of Jim’s work .

Bennings interview today :  “ you know , we’ve got Podolzkin stepping in , and we’d like to get Tryamkin signed”

id say penciling in accounts for 60% of the equation.

I heard that too!  He sounded very positive about Tryamkin and he brought him up without anyone asking him about it!

Schmidt, Myers, Hughes, Juolevi, Tryamkin ... now that's a good sounding 5 and adding Edler back for cheap, or else giving a shot to Chatfield and Rathbone doesn't look too bad.

To add , I can’t believe some of the blow back JB is getting over Pearson.

a non typical season of 11 points in 33 games.

Our LW is solid and dynamic :

Miller

Hoglander

Pearson

Motte

Pearson will give up a 7 team no-trade list in the 22-23 season.  This keeps us stable and flexible.

I think Nik comes in at 2x 2.5 to UFA.

the years after that I’m sure he is a 4-5m player.

So perhaps it’s a 3x3m to UFA, tradeable in the 3rd season.

More players are going to be looking for stability than money after this pandemic.

I would love to hear what Benning projects Tryamkin as..........just a question, and a real barometer of how committed  Benning is about Tryamkin....

I am not sold on Benning's statement.......we have heard it before

Then, oh we did not have enough time, not enough cap, he wanted too much, the subject is getting tiring

Sorry guys, I more mistrust him, these days than anything.....he does not lie, he just seems to bumble along, he is eroding my confidence in him

no to Edler, bring Hamonic back and add Rathbone as a 7th Dman and our D corps is set.

We need Tryamkin back as a first priority.  Go with the following to start the year:

Hughes Hamonic

Schmidt Tryamkin

Joulevi Myers

Rathbone

Tryamkin could likely supplant Hamonic but start him on the second pairing.

I like the fact that each pairing has a guy who wouldn't hesitate to drop the gloves if needed.

Dim Jim is wasting cap space on vets with past due dates so unfortunately i feel Tree will be the victim

you forgot to add #firegreen

this is a terrible take. How could you possibly think Pearsons 3.25 eliminates Nik signing a deal? if anything it ensures it and we probably don't see Edler back, unless he takes a 1 mil deal.

Book it

^ this is very likely. If we take Jim at his word about 'no cap issues' then this has to be the d group.

Regarding Jim, Jan,

I do clearly remember hi saying they were hoping to sign him last year but had to wait to see how they faired with the cap and player movement.

I don’t remember anything about JB saying he wanted too much.

I agree that this is an unfortunate situation that has gone on 3 years too long, and we were all excited to see him develop more with us in this league.

But at least in the KHL he hasn’t been submitted to the pugilists of the game and has grown from the 21-22 year old rookie we saw to a solid young man at 26..

that foundation for his body to fully develop will pay dividends in every aspect of the game, and allow Nik some added respect for the true strengths he has grown into without having to fist fight every night.

Now,.  It’s go time.

Any body have any idea if Edler would make a good player/ d coach ?

He always seems quiet, not much of an interview, but perhaps different in his environment?
