Sounds like he gets picked up by Seattle, or the first qualifying offer to him, he leaves Chicago?

The Hawks probably should have let him go for something,.  Or perhaps they just want to clear cap space and sign a UFA ... like Edler ;)

keep other teams honest with tryamkin

  hughes  schmidt

  juolevi  tryamkin

  zadorov hamonic

  edler rathbone

be a decent 8 dmen  much better than this yrs dcorp

Wait a minute, do you really think that if we sign Edler he would end up on press box ?
I'm not for re signing Elder. but if we do use some cap to him, its for letting him play.

my point of view :dont re sign him, spare some cap and spend it to Hamonic AND Tryamkin.
my D corp :

Hughes Hamonic

Tryamkin Schmidt

Rathbone Myers

Juolevi

Did Podz get cut from the national team?

No, but even though he would still play for them if he is selected for the national team, he is technically free from his KHL contract and able to sign a new contract for next season.

Canuckabbyfan2. is solid,    Lots of video on our prospects including Tryamkin.

Its the collective opinion I gather from reports like this, to form an opinion of my own.

Having an opinion without any related facts or numbers,  is really only a personal statement without real knowledge.

Too many times , especially in this thread, posters appear only to spew the emotional attachment or dislike they have for a player.

Even if you go back 100 pages of this 700 page thread, you will find decent information that has been shared , that might have you affirming a position you might have, or coming to a whole new conclusion on this player.

Thank you very much.

This should be 'pinned' (or whatever you call it).

Good sources are invaluable.

Crap sources are a scourge.

I must admit, that when I seen our defense down on paper, I thought it would be able to hold its own, which has not been the case. I am not sure what has happened but we lost alot of goal production this year, with the likes of Virtanen, and Gaudette not scoring like last year, and the loss of Pettersson to injury.

All and all a bad season, which has really made me look hard at our team.

What I really see, is confusion of how our teams young guys, meld with the old guys........I personally do not see it, as IMO, it will be the Horvat's and Miller's that will be the old guys, when the young guys are truly ready to compete for the playoffs.

Now, I absolutely have no problem with getting some more 26-27 years olds, but IMO, the Schmidt's, Myer's, and Edler's will be way past their prime, when we are ready. This leads me to my next thought, which is moving on, now from these players, and trying to add veterans that will still be competitive when we are ready.

It is time to really test our young LHD, and see what they are made of, by giving them spot duty for the rest of the season. I am mainly speaking of Juolevi and Rathbone, who I feel will impress, when given the responsibility. Just let's see where that plays out.

But for every young guy you play, you must have a veteran backing him up. Myers, Schmidt and Hamonic for this season, and moving forward, getting some better players in.

IMO, I think that Hamilton and Tryamkin are a good start, and will solidify our RHD. I also like the idea Jimmy suggested of picking up Zadorov, who is huge and defensive at 6'6" 235 lbs. He can also play both sides.

Lastly, and I know people just roll their eyes, but I am sorry, Hughes will never be a #1, as he is an excellent PP specialist, with very low defensive capabilities............Moving him, "could" provide a very good player, or a blue chip prospect and a 1st round pick. Certainly we would not give him away, and would wait out any poor offers, but IMO, I think we would be better off.

I see a Defense of .....................being a lot harder to penetrate, and would be more offensive then what he have today................

Rathbone         Hamilton

Schmidt           Zadorov

Juolevi             Tryamkin

          Hamonic

Schmidt, Zadorov and Tryamkin can all play both sides, so it allows for mixing and matching, if Green needs it. It is a Heavy defense. It is younger, and heavier and would give opponents fits.

We honestly need to make some hard choices................No more 2 on 1's.............Demko would be happy!

Either there is an issue making a deal, or it is made but they don’t want to announce it while we are still playing because it would mean one of our guys we expect to play for us over the next couple weeks isn’t going to be offered a job with the team next year.

Could they make a deal now with the expansion draft coming up? Would he need protection if we signed him or are we good either way.

He doesn't need protection regardless of signing as it will be a contract for next year.

My suspicion is that it is bad form to sign a player's replacement when that player is still playing games for us.

Vegas was right.

Did you ever watch Malcom in the Middle where the little kid thinks he is having a good logical conversation and in reality he is rolling on the ground screaming and yelling. Kinda reminds me of you and some other posters.  Waaa Toffoli Waaa This

You think it's not a big deal the ownership and the management failed to even call him and see if the 25 goal scorer in less then 50 games would sign for $4 million?

That's nice you are a very forgiving fan and probably haven't lived through more then 1 bad losing stretch and understand the maddening past if you let them off the hook that easily.

He is never coming, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if we allow him to negotiate a contract with another team and trade his rights. He just doesn’t fit anywhere. His crybaby a$$ should’ve just sucked it up, he’d probably be far better off today then eating cold Borscht with a bunch of money in a depressing country.

Haven’t changed my mind.
