Winners/losers of UFA day

How exactly was it a gamble?

You could tell they really wanted him and in the end iginla wanted to play for real talented "youth". Him with the Sedins would of been fun to watch for a couple years until Virtanen and McCann and shink and horvat start getting full time roles...

Now they go back to the drawing board or trade 2015 draft picks for top end talent...

Pittsburgh won in getting Erhoff. That PP is going to be disgustingly good.

Dallas marginally improved. Yes, Spezza is a career PPG player, but he can no longer handle hard minutes and I think he's going to struggle mightily if he doesn't get cushy zone starts and QualComp.

St. Louis wins big in adding Statsny. He's a solid two-way center with more offensive upside than either of the Blues current top 6 centers.

Winners- Florida, picked up a few key veteran guys like Bolland and Mitchell that will help develop their younger guys. Jussi Jokien is still a relevant name in the NHL. I can see the Panthers fighting for a playoff spot this upcoming season.

Winners- Stars, Blues, Wild, Penguins, Hawks

losers- Canadiens, Capitals, oilers, Avalanche, coyotes (cause they have no money and just sleep in on July 1st)

Meh- everyone else

Easiest day of the year for the Coyotes GM!

Mr. Hopeless. Give it a rest. Every post you make is the same transparent, negative nonsense. Every post. C'mon mods have a look at this guy. It is obvious you're not a Canucks fan so please shut the hell up.

Wrong. I like the up and coming youth but they are still 2-3 years away. This team will attempt to be "competitive" but that won't mean much in a thick heavily stacked top 6-8 western conference

Sure it would have been nice to get him. That doesn't make going after him a gamble. Nothing was lost by going after him. Would you prefer that they didn't go after him?

Benning should have stayed in bed. He threw 9 million into the toilet. Apparently he's been sent here by Boston to totally destroy the Canucks once and for all. [A joke; I think.]He's obviously totally clueless... and in way over his head. Miller and Grabovski will go down in history as the worst choices ever... in both cases they are way beyond their 'best by' date... and only looking for one last contract. (They will now enter coma mode.)

Hallucinating again? Speaking of not having a clue... :sadno:
