$5million-2 year deal according to Sports Net

The Vancouver Canucks have signed unrestricted free-agent forward Radim Vrbata to a two-year contract worth an average annual value of $5 million.

Vrbata's agent, Rich Evans, tweeted Wednesday night that his client would be joining a Canadian NHL club before adding "Yes, it is Vancouver" minutes later.

In 80 games with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2013-14, Vrbata scored 20 goals and 31 assists. He is coming off a three-year contract that paid him an average annual value of $3 million.

Vrbata has played the past five seasons with the Coyotes. He has spent time with the Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning over his 12-year NHL career.

The 32-year-old forward has 215 goals and 249 assists for 464 points over 792 career games in the NHL.

Vrbata, a native of Czech Republic, was drafted by Colorado in the seventh round (212nd overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Just got in from working outside so not attached to a tv or computer like some folks are.

Obviously news to me so I am stoked.

This means the PP is going to be back as a threat and the twins may have a fit.

If the miller signing gets its own stickied thread in canucks talk, why can't vrbata get a thread in canucks talk? How about giving your own thoughts on the signing instead of all these useless replies.

edit: useless replies removed, thanks.

On a contract year, guy could only muster 20 goals, and for just the 3rd time in his career. And now it's like well now that we have a 5 million dollar 20 goal pure scorer we better trade Burrows and his awful 4.5 million contract. What an upgrade.
