Shoring up the Roster

Recommended Posts

WE have a log jam at depth/bottom 6 forwards. we got 10 guys who can play top 6. instead of losing some of them on waivers we should try and get value for them. Hansen, and Richardson can get value. i also feel like Lack we be a more valuable trade asset then Markstrom.

IF carolina trades CAm Ward (rumoured) then that would be a good fit for Lack who can pair up with Kuhobin as a 1A/B scenario, which he thrived in last season with Luongo.

Car: Ryan Murphy

Van: Lack, Hansen, 3rd 2015/2nd pick 2016 (give the option considering depth of this draft)

Carolina lacks depth on the wing and Hansen would slot right into the top 9 as the 3rd line shut down winger.

Vancouver gets a young defenseman that has top 4 potential in a couple years.

Next move should be Richardson. A decent 4th line center who can slot in the the 3rd line role if injuries occur. Should be able to get a 3rd round pick.

Then with the cleared cap space sign penner to a PTO on a 1 year 1m contract. hes won 2 cups and brings experience to the locker room.

Starting Day Line-up

Sedin-Sedin-Vrbata

Jensen-Bonino-Kassian

Higgins-Vey-Burrows

Penner-Matthias-Dorsett

Sestito

Hamhuis-Bieksa

Tanev-Edler

Sbisa-Murphy

Weber/Stanton

Miller

Markstrom.

Also gives Corrado and Horvat one more year to develop before coming up to the bigs, and he makes for a very reliable call up. Shinkaruk, Guance, Fox, Lain, Defazio, Zalewski, Ericcsson will be ready to go if injuries pile up.

Is this a Cup contending lineup? no. But it gives us a good young defensive prospect whos ready to play now and clears up the logjam in our bottom 6 and at goalie.
