MJDDawg
Great news. Had been wondering about the status of both McCann's and Virtanen's signings after seeing a bunch of picks lower than these guys get signed in the last couple of weeks.
NorthWestNuck
Wow! That seems fast...Curious when was the last time we signed one of our draft picks prior to their first training camp? That said, I am happy to see this. Benning seemed pretty high on this guy. Obviously doesn't mean anything as far as this year, but cool to see... -Vintage Canuck-
Wow! That seems fast...Curious when was the last time we signed one of our draft picks prior to their first training camp? If I remember correctly, didn't the Canucks sign Bo Horvat last year in late-July/early-August?
Where's Wellwood
Wow, you beat Vintage and Strombone? Impressive. I'm surprised McCann was signed before Virtanen. Does his injury and ongoing rehab have something to do with it? Does Benning and co. want to see Virtanen healed up and playing before signing him? Rex425
Looks to be a promising future 3C for us. Could be a 2C or even a 1C for us. Longshot but still a chance.
Chronic.Canuck
Standard procedure. They're probably waiting on Virtanen to heal up and start playing before they sign him.
Phil_314
Love this pick and glad to see that he's signing. Looks like Obama's got the right attitude too!
Shane Churla
My excitement for all our prospects is very high. I remember after he was drafted in his interview he said he thinks he can make the team not this year but next year. Correct me if I'm wrong. Diakonos
In case you guys haven't read it, a great interview about McCann with now-Toronto AGM Kyle Dubas: http://canucksarmy.com/2014/7/7/get-to-know-a-prospect-jared-mccann-not-jared-mccan-t Gives me hope that he actually could be a 2C, and maybe a 1C. Has the makings of a potential Kesler replacement, even down to the same draft pick at 24th.
Bure to Mogilny
So if some one signs a elc does mean the next three years are elc or there first three years in nhl are elc? And if some one doesnt sign one in the summer after the draft what happens? Thanks if some one can clear up
