I'm sure people may have caught Greg Douglas's column in the Saturday, Aug 23 edition of The Vancouver Sun but for those who didn't, "Dr. Sport's" column mentions an upcoming book about the Canucks.

The author, Bruce Dowbiggin, discusses in his book about the Canucks' guidance under former president and general manager, Mike Gillis, to greatness in 2011, only to fall back to mediocrity in just three years.

Dowbiggin will be in Vancouver early next month to sign copies of his book, entitled 'Ice Storm'.

This should be a very interesting and insightful read for all of us Canucks fans as I plan on getting my copy.

Should be a good read. Dowbiggin has written several well-received books about the game.

Interestingly, it seems that Dowbiggin had to tweak things a bit after Vancouver's disastrous 2013-14 season. He'd been working on a book about the Gillis era Canucks for a few years and was set to release it in late 2013.

The original title?

"Best Practices: The Vancouver Canucks & The Pursuit of Excellence"
