Monty
We have a trade to announce... To CAR: Ryan PulockTo ARZ: Anthony ManthaLooks like my "State of the Union Address" was just trying to be the centre of attention, as usual. Anyway, I want to thank Anthony Mantha for slugging it out in the AHL this season and being such a good sport over the last week. Drewismyname and I have been conversing over the last number of days, trying to get a trade done around Anthony Mantha. The Hurricanes found themselves with an abundance of forward prospects (Ehlers, Milano, Grenier, Granlund, Quine, Nylen, Weal, Cornel, Quenneville) that it was becoming apparent that they needed to bulk up on defense and start preparing for the future. Anyone who knows me, knows just how much of an Isles fan I am. So bringing in Ryan Pulock was a tough decision, as I didn't want to let my bias cloud my judgement. However, Ryan Pulock has been a beast since being drafted, putting up 17 goals in the AHL last season, as a defenseman; and he didn't even play the full season. While he may not be ready to play next year, I am more than willing to wait it out for him. With Honka, Bowey, and now Pulock, the Canes future on defense is looking really bright. Want to thank drewismyname, again, for being such an easy GM to deal with.

The Carolina Gm was more than a pleasure to deal with as we both had something to gain with the trade. It makes the most sense when a trade is equal, when the gm you are dealing with has a level head and you dont have to go into negotiations as if its a battle. As we are against the cap we are in need of players who are ready to make the jump to the nhl. While Pulock was one of our picks to do just that, as a club we felt we had enough quality d prospects in Sanheim, Tryamkin, and Forsling that we could invest in a player who we feel will be a future top six player in the same regard but perhaps a year or two later. D-Money
We have a trade to announce... To SJS: Kris Russell (23% retained by Los Angeles for 2015 season)To LAK: Trevor Daley, SJS 2015 3rd Round Pick L.A. Kings would like to thank Captain Woodget for a quick and easy negotiation. And also for having a handle that makes me snort every time I'm half-cut (basically whenever I post, or negotiate a trade). We welcome Trevor Daley to our organization, and thank him for waiving his LNTC for us. Since we are so close to San Jose, we hope the transition was easy for him and his family. We are thankful to Kris Russell for his contributions. In fact, he's played SO well that he should be due a significant raise in one year. With other large signings due at the same time, we decided to move him for a D-man with longer term. San Jose had the opposite situation (need cap room now, have some clearing in a year), so this deal made great sense for both teams.
D-Money
We have a trade to announce... To LAK: Fedor Tyutin (33% retained by Nashville for 2016 and 2017 seasons)To NSH: Beau Bennett This trade was not quick and easy, in fact we bounced around for quite a while with different players and scenarios. But lethunder was a pleasure to deal with, and kept the negotiations open and level-headed throughout. We are happy to welcome Fedor Tyutin to our team, to further strengthen our top-4 D, and help groom fellow Russian D-man Nikita Nesterov. We appreciate him also waiving his NTC for our organization, and hope to reward him with his first Stanley Cup ring. Similar to the Daley deal, this allowed the other GM to shed cap now, while making Tyutin's contract more affordable for us the following 2 years, when our cap room will be tighter. D-Money
Los Angeles would also like to note that despite some delays, we agreed to terms with Alex Galchenyuk today. So if anyone was secretly hoping he'd slip through to free agency... ...suck it.

Buddhas Hand
I've only gotten 9 submissions so far. If you haven't sent yours in yet, please do it asap Not that I expect any votes but just in case you are thinking of it please do not vote for me. Those deals were done by the previous GM , WSA. I am not comfortable accepting accolades for someone elses achievments.
Guest
Maybe it can be like the Jennings, you could share the award? I can't remember who I voted for but your franchise as a whole had a terrific year. I'd say well done but I don't know how much you had to do with it now

I am not comfortable accepting accolades for someone elses achievments. On the other hand, though, sometimes the best moves are no moves at all. In discussions I've had with you, you've stated numerous times that any time you make a trade it's when another GM initiates one. Being patient with the lineup that you have is a positive. Guest
Sharks pleased with recent acquisitions New San Jose Sharks General Manager Captain Woodget has spoken of his happiness with his recent dealings in the trade market. After the franchise lost in the first round of its defence of the Stanley Cup Woodget has brought in several new faces, and appears keen to make further deals. "It's been an interesting few weeks" said Woodget, "and I hope our fans are pleased with the changes I have made. Amongst others we welcome Marian Gaborik, David Backes and Jiri Hudler and their anticipated elite scoring, as well as Kris Russell after his excellent season on D. "I expect to make one or two more moves, however until the cap is set I cannot consider too many deals. I believe we will challenge for the Cup again next season and that with the moves we have made, we will still be in the reckoning come June." Rumours persist regarding Woodget's centre Tyler Bozak - could he be the player Woodget is referring to?

D-Money
With the recent acquisitions of Trevor Daley and Fedor Tyutin, the L.A. Kings are considering moving a depth defenseman. The following two players are on the block: Matt Donovan 1.1 mil cap hit, 2 years remaining Matt was a spare D-man for Winnipeg last year, but did not play many games (did dress for 2 playoff games though). As such, he's headed for group IV UFA. However, he had a decent NHL season in 2013-14 (52 GP, 16 Pts, 26 PIM). And he absolutely lit up the AHL in the past (180 GP, 118 Pts, 210 PIMs). He's likely to sign with a team needing an offensive defenseman. Andre Benoit 2.0 mil cap hit, 1 year remaining Benoit's situation is similar, in that he did not have a very good season last year (76 pool points), but not many did in Buffalo. He is also a UFA now, but is only one year removed from a strong 28-point season with the Avalanche. He's also likely to sign with a team needing offense from their blueline. We'd like to move at least one of these players, and are not expecting much of a return for either. We realize that we are selling low here, and that one or both of these players could become quite valuable if things work out for them wherever they sign next. They could possibly see 2nd unit PP time on certain teams. We just don't have room for both of them.
D-Money
Also, Michael Frolik (270 pool points last season) could be had for the right offer. Has 1 year remaining at 2.7 million.
