oldnews
For me, the big question thus far is whether the Coil got the better player at #2, and how that player will feel about going to Deadmonton?

Keslerific
Some interesting choices in the draft so far with Marner at 3 and Provorov at 5, I thought for sure Hannifin would go third. I think the 2nd half of the first round is where it will really get interesting though, lots of those prospects have a similar ceiling.

D-Money
L.A. Kings just added a young depth defenseman in a trade (to be announced). We're looking to clear a spot for him. As such, Jay Harrison is on the block. Jay had a respectable 129 pool points last year. He has one year left on his contract, with a 1.5 million dollar cap hit. Nail
To NYI: Ryan Callahan, Chris Neil, Adam Clendening, TBL 2015 1st Round Pick To TBL: TJ Oshie, Dale Weise To TBL: Brian Dumoulin, Michael Mersch To ANA: ANA 2016 2nd Round Pick, TBL 2016 4th Round Pick To DET: Andrej Sekera, Andrew Hammond To TBL: TBL 2016 3rd Round Pick, DET 2015 5th Round Pick (Conditional: Turns into DET 2015 4th if Hammond resigns), DET 2016 2nd Round Pick (Conditional: Is added to deal if Sekera resigns) I'd like to thank Ryan, Chris, Adam, Andrej and Andrew for their time in the organization. I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to TJ, Dale, Brian and Michael. Regarding the first trade: After watching this years playoffs, it became evident that Ryan Callahan was slowly slipping out of Tampa Bay's top 6. Considering the fact that Jonathan Drouin should be getting a top 6 chance as well, 6M was too high of a caphit for us to pay for a 3rd liner. Same sort of thing with Chris. 1.9M is a little steep for us to pay a 13th/14th forward, and he'll have a better role on the Isles. It's unfortunate that I have to move Adam and our 1st round pick this year, but I have a few players that I am eyeing in free agency to help replenish the prospect pool. Thank you to Oldnews and SH for some great negotiations! Regarding the second trade: I'm excited to bring in Brian and Michael. We expect Brian to make our NHL roster next year, and the addition of him helps offset the loss of Clendening. Michael is coming off of a beastly AHL playoffs with the Monarchs and we envision him as an injury call up next season. We feel that you can't get a better deal than a 2nd for a young NHL bound defenceman and a 4th for more of a project, but a guy who will hopefully make the NHL as well. Thanks to gmen for some quick and easy negotiations! Regarding the third trade: Unfortunately, we didn't have room to resign Andrej, as we feel we already have 4 top 4 defenceman in McDonagh, Enstrom, Edler and Ericsson. Although a free agent now, Detroit would be a good fit for him should he choose to sign there. The Hamburglar helped us rocket up the standings this year, but we would like to move forward with Scott Darling as our backup, and there was no room to keep him. We will aggressively be pursuing a starting goaltender in free agency on July 1. Thanks to GFY for easy negotiations! Updated Tampa Bay Roster: Patrick Maroon - Steven Stamkos - T.J. Oshie Matt Beleskey - Aleksander Barkov - Jeff Carter Carl Hagelin - Trevor Lewis - Dale Weise Curtis McKenzie - _____ - _____ Nicolas Deslauries (RFA) - _____ Ryan McDonagh - Alex Edler Jonathan Ericsson - Tobias Enstrom _____ - _____ Brian Dumoulin _____ - Scott Darling As of now, we only have 2 draft picks in this years entry draft, but we'd be willing to move Antti Raanta and Christian Folin in an effort to acquire more. I think the 2nd half of the first round is where it will really get interesting though, lots of those prospects have a similar ceiling. I went back and forth between Hanifin and Marner But we have Dumba, Deangelo, Murphy and Moore - so ultimately decided that we needed a super high end F to compliment Fabbri, Reinhart, etc.
