MattJVD
After a preseason sweep over the Oilers, Vancouver looks to continue it's winning ways in the first regular season match up between these two Western Canadian clubs. Vancouver posted a 3 - 2 record against Edmonton last season, including a memorable 4-0 win in December which proved to be Roberto Luongo's last shut-out as a Canuck. Projected Lineups: Vancouver: Sedin - Sedin - Vrbata Higgins - Bonino - Burrows Richardson - Vey - Kassian Dorsett - Matthais - Hansen Edler - Tanev* (Game time decision) Hamhuis - Bieksa Stanton - Sbisa Miller Lack Edmonton: Hall - Nugent-Hopkins - Eberle Perron - Arcobello - Purcell Pouliot - Draisaitl - Yakupov Hendricks - Gordon - Joensuu Nikitin - Fayne Ference - Petry Hunt - Schultz Fasth Scrivens Line-ups will be updated closer to the game (pending game day skates, coach interviews etc). First home game of the year, I'm expecting a big first period to get the crowd into it early. Another 4 - 2 win! CatsPajamas
hmmm... good October schedule. Not many tough opponents. That'll give the players more time to settle into the system and gain confidence, I would think. Before they have to face the teams they need to be playing optimally for. Plum
Hoping for a better performance than last nights game. It was a pretty sloppy game with not alot of completed passes and some bad defensive plays, I think we'll see better quality hockey this game since it was the first game of the season on Wednesday. YEGCanuck
Our boys are going have to work hard for a full 60 minutes each game this season to get the right results. The Oil have improved. I thought the rookie Leon D. was slotted in at second line centre. Some Edmonton fans have begun to call him Neon Leon. A nick-name long time Lions fans will recognize.
